If only I had viewed this the first time around...

Before my son was born, I was terrified of breastfeeding. More scared of that than labor! After a year of nursing, I'm happy to say I survived and I'm not so scared this time around. But the beginning was extremely trying.

I wish I knew then what I know now. And if I had viewed The Real Deal on Breastfeeding, I would have been so much more prepared. The Real Deal on Breastfeeding features real moms discussing the ups and downs of one of the most natural practices of parenting. The moms are extremely honest, they tell each other (and you) how they did it, why, when... everything you need to know. Sitting on my sofa, I felt like I was in the room with them, nodding, laughing and crying. Having been through a tough beginning, I identified with comments about having trouble latching on, the smile on your baby when he is full, and the tears when its time to wean.

The video also features a lactation consultant who answers questions, gives advice, explains the how-to's and works with a brave new mom to show you how to breastfeed correctly. Let me tell you, I had no one to show me this last time--I really could have used it!

Finally, a doctor answers medical questions that float through your mind like, is a glass of wine okay? and what are the chances of getting pregnant while breastfeeding?

The women who created the production are real moms, both who struggled with breastfeeding the first time around. The Real Deal on Breastfeeding approaches the viewer straight on. This DVD is a million times better than the yawn of a breastfeeding class I took pre-labor.

Whether you're about to have baby number one, struggling with breastfeeding and need some support, or getting ready to have a second, third or fourth, this is a DVD you need to have. Watch it to learn, to identify, to remind you of what you CAN do. Mommies With Style readers can get 15% off the retail price for The REAL DEAL on Breastfeeding using the coupon code mommieswithstyle.

(And, for you sentimental moms like me... have a box of tissues near by, some of the comments you'll identify with beyond belief. And wait till you see the baby latch on quickly with his eyes wide--I had forgotten that adorable look!)
