More cool signing products: Signing Smart book & flashcards

I recently received this book, Signing Smart. I was interested to take a look since we've only used videos to teach sign language. Signing Smart supports ASL and teaches the basics to kids and parents.
They've got a glossary in the back explaining how to do the basic signs, as well as some pictures. I'd recommend also purchasing something visual to help you - like the Signing Smart Flashcards, to help you make sure you get the signs right.
The authors of the Signing Smart series are child development researchers and educators.
For those who don't know (and haven't heard me go on and on about signing with your child), signing is not just for hearing-impaired children. It's a great way to encourage communication with your babies and toddlers - it helps to reduce frustration and tantrums but allowing your kids to communicate more easily. I'm a huge fan: I believe signing not only helped reduce tantrums in our house but helped my son to speak sooner.

One of the co-authors, Reyna, is in my tap class! :) She's also a child development educator and I've taken some great toddler/parent behavior classes from her. I'm sure her sign series is awesome too - my friend took it with her son and she says it helped tremendously.-aud
