Better than the Magic Eraser... Goo Gone

No matter how well you think you're keeping tabs on your child, it's always in that one moment you're preoccupied that they cause disaster in your home. For me, it involved a phone call from an old college friend, a crayon, a chair and our kitchen counter top.

And of course it had to be one of the unwashable crayons we had picked up from a restaurant, a leftover relic from our pre-"washable crayons" only days. I tried all sorts of things to get the crayon out - Magic Eraser, Windex, Clorox Wipes, dishwashing soap, Comet, and more. And stain wouldn't budge. A friend told me about this stuff -- Goo Gone. I had never heard of it before and she swore it cleaned everything.

I picked up a small bottle at our local Home Depot. I only used a small dab and it worked wonders - the crayon came right up. Apparently it's useful for other mishaps too: lipstick stains, removing the sticky remnants of a sticker (you know what I'm talking about - the little bits that just won't scrap off) and more.

You can find it at your local hardware store. I googled and found it online at Organize-Everything. It's $5.99 for a small 8 ounce bottle (which goes a long way as you don't need much.)
