Cool Summer Shoes from Toddler Treads

I have a bit of a shoe fetish. I get all goofy around fine European leather and have been known to plonk down considerable amounts of cash for that "perfect pair". But unlike Carrie from Sex in the City, much of the footwear I covet is in miniature. It's made for the five and under set. "Their feet are growing, its a medical expense!" I rationalize. Yeah right. Oilily boots are a medical expense. Someone please explain this to my husband?

Fortunate for my marriage, and in time for warmer weather, I recently discovered Toddler Treads' summer shoes.

What I like: These fab and funky shoes are the perfect union of form, function and price ($47.99) in fine euro-toddler footwear. With their signature yellow soles and array of bright but not too bright colors - they are instant eye candy. And get this - my almost two year old comes to me and sticks out his foot obediently when I say it is time for him to put on these shoes! That is nothing short of a miracle. Have you tried to convince a 2yo to put on their shoes recently? The leather is soft and pliable and the retro-mod desert boot design looks hip and fresh with all Fox's clothes. I dig ( just looking at these makes me say silly 70s stuff like "I dig") all the delicious colors including Ginger, Chocolate and Olive. These shoes have a "healthy foot" certification btw. That's a nice technical bonus.

What Fox Likes: The attention! People stop in their tracks to comment on him and his shoes and all the cuteness. He's all over that. But even better than the passel of admirers is the lack of socks. Fox truly hates socks. And the leather lining on the Toddler Treads is sufficiently soft to go without. Breezy toe vents let in the air, keeping his tooties cool and dry, but his toes are still protected from stubs and trips. (What's with toddlers suddenly tripping over their own feet when you put them in sandals, anyway?)

While recently perusing Us Magazine, I noticed that Brad & Angelina's kids own Toddler Treads. And Fox's future girlfriend, Apple Martin was photographed out and about in her shoes this spring as well. Guess Apple and Fox will have something to talk about on their first date.
