There are so many pregnancy and baby books out there that when you are expecting it can be a bit overwhelming. As an expectant mom, I want to know as much as possible, but I don’t have a lot of time and need to get the best, most concise info I can.
I discovered a great book for any mom-to-be, called One Year to an Organized Life with Baby by Regina Leeds (professional organizer) and Meagan Francis (parenting expert). I really enjoyed this book. It gives you a week-to-week guide to get ready for your baby and helpful suggestions on how to keep your family organized (keeping you sane in the process!)
As it should be, this book is extremely organized and is laid out in a very easy-to-read format. It’s also very digestible, broken up into month segments and then by week, so you can focus on what you need to do each week in a logical and organized manner. The book has two parts, one is “getting ready” and the other is “baby’s here!” Both sections help you with practical suggestions, timelines, checklists, and tips.
As a mom with two other children, I didn’t know how useful this book would be to me. However, I did find a lot of great tips and reminders on what I should be doing and when to get ready for my baby. For first-time moms, this book is priceless. If you are an organized person who likes to plan ahead, you will absolutely love this book. And if you are not that type of person, you will still love this book because it will help you get organized (something you will need to be once baby comes!)
This book will help you get your home, health, work, and life ready for your new baby. Some of the topics the book covers include creating your nursery, determining what baby gear you need and what you can skip, preparing for maternity leave and going back to work, packing your diaper bag, creating effective household routines, organizing baby photos and documents, childproofing your home, and much more.
If you are pregnant or know someone who is, One Year to an Organized Life with Baby is a great addition to your pre-baby/baby library. Definitely don’t skip this book!

What needs to be orgaized before baby comes? Oh my gosh, I have no clue…EVERYTHING! This is my first and as I will be a full time working mom I feel that organization will be the key to staying somewhat sane after I return from maternity leave! Thanks!
We have so much to do! I would be happy to just get the nursery organized. By nursery I mean our computer/exercise room that we have yet to repurpose.
We recently added #3 to our family. She’s now sleeping through the night, so I’m feeling more human again. YEAAAH! Hubby works FT & is finishing up his Masters (also a FT gig). Our kids are all under 4, so I’m super busy too. We just recently found out our rental is being sold & we have to move in 2 months. I’m trying not to freak out, but I have no idea how to take care of the kids, house and get us all organized, packed & ready to go. Hubby literally has 4 hours of downtime a week if you don’t count sleep. I TOTALLY need help coming up with a PLAN that will get us there!
This is my first and I have everything to get ready before this little one joins us. I am a very organized person and everyone keeps telling me to be prepared to say goodbye to my organized lifestyle. This book gives me hope that I may not have to say goodbye afterall.
Wow! This book sounds great! Wish I had known about it for my first two girls. Well, I am pregnant with our third child. While I’m very excited I’m also very nervous- now we are going to be out numbered! Since I’m so busy with my girls I feel like this pregnancy is just passing by and I’m not prepared at all. HELP!
Sign me up for this one! I have 2 young children (19 months apart) and I work – so I am at a complete loss on how to organize all the pics and documents and don’t have time to figure it out on my own…help!!!
I need to organize the nursery… currently our home office and collection room for things that don’t have a home yet! I would love to win this book!

For me, finances are most important at this point in time. I need to make sure I’m on top of it because there’s no room for error!
The most important thing to me is getting our home school organized and planned since my baby is due just 2 weeks before school starts!
