I recently discovered a beautiful Eco chic jewelry line by The Leakey Collection that is handmade together by local skilled Maasai artisans of Kenya. My favorite piece is from the Zulugrass line. This contemporary jewelry line is made from environmentally sustainable materials. The gorgeous strands of colorful grass beads are dyed in a wide range of colors and strung together with sparkling hand-blown Czech glass beads that make stunning pieces. On our recent trip, we each had our own individual backpacks that we carried when we went out for the day. Even my 2.5-year old son has his own! His was the most adorable, toddler-sized backpack I have ever seen – the Cow Animal Daysack by LittleLife. My husband and I shared the Shaun White Backpack from Burton. It is an awesome, laptop backpack that has more storage and compartments than I have ever seen in a backpack! In addition to the nicely padded laptop compartment, it also features an Easy-Access, Side-Entry zipper, which is an added bonus when quickly stowing the laptop in a tight space like an airplane. My husband is always anally organized, so he especially appreciated that this pack had a plethora of pockets and compartments.

There are a handful of easy to access, exterior pockets, great for PDA’s, cell phones, MP3 players, and even snacks. Additionally, there are a myriad of interior pockets, great for storing cords, power packs, office supplies, etc. Once we saw the backpack arrive, and knew how easily it would keep us organized on the go, it was a no brainer to quickly unpack our existing backpack, and replace it with the Shaun White backpack. Nintendo DSi: Gaming (and much more) on the go

Another product we brought along on our trip last month was a Nintendo DSi system. My daughter couldn’t have been more thrilled about receiving it. She actually might have been more excited about getting it than going on the actual trip!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with a Nintendo DSi, it is a portable gaming system that kids love! The Nintendo DSi system comes with nine different built-in software applications: Nintendo DSi + Internet, Nintendo DSi Shop, DS Download Play, System Settings, Nintendo DSi Browser, PictoChat, Nintendo DSi Camera, Nintendo DSi Sound and Flipnote Studio.

The coolest feature of the DSi is that the unit is able to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots for Internet browsing and online gaming. While we were away, we frequented coffee shops that had Wi-Fi and my daughter was able to quickly download a new game. The DSi does have parental controls available so that you can limit access to certain content. Additionally, the DSi’s digital camera makes it ideal for capturing anything you want. My daughter is really into taking pictures of anything and everything, so she really loves this feature. There are actually two cameras – one inside for showing the player in an online gaming environment and the other on the outside for taking more traditional pictures. The outside camera is 3.0 megapixels and the quality is pretty good.

As far as the gaming on the DSi goes, it should be noted that the DSi plays all Nintendo DS games. There are literally hundreds of titles from which to choose. One game we received and that my daughter loved was Style Savvy, a game that combines creativity and fashion with a collection of trendy clothes, chic accessories and stylish shoes. In the game, you’re the owner of a clothing boutique and you must purchase inventory, monitor the store’s funds and try to please your fashionista customers. Once you build up some cash from your loyal customers, it’s time to start making real business decisions: Should you expand your inventory? Should you start getting ready for seasonal changes? Utilizing the wireless capabilities of the DSi, your child can join up to three of their friends in hosting a fashion runway contest to see who has the best eye for fashion!

A tranquil journey with Dozy Dolphin On The Go

My son is accustomed to falling asleep while listening to ocean waves. He had a hard time going to sleep as an infant and the waves just seem to sooth him and put him to sleep. When we travel, we always have to lug his wave machine along, which is a hassle. So when we received the Dozy Dolphin On The Go by Cloud b for our recent trip, we were thrilled!

The Go Pillow!: A must have item for on the go travel

Another product we brought along on our trip was the GoPillow! My son and daughter loved the Go Pillow! so much that they actually fought over whose turn it was to have it! The GoPillow! is a portable pillow that has a built-in blanket tucked away inside. My kids loved snuggling with it on the airplane (of course taking turns), since it is super soft and cozy. The portable pillow consists of an inner core of soft, pliable cushion/foam and a soft outer fabric covering.

The Go Pillow! reminds me of a cylinder type pillow that you can place your hand on up to your elbow inside to securely cradle your child while feeding them. The built-in blanket tucks neatly inside, providing easy access to pull out while on the go to allow for mother and baby privacy while out in public breast feeding.

Minimus: Don’t leave home without them

I recently went on vacation with my husband and two kids and we decided to test out a bunch of fabulous products that I will be reviewing over the next several weeks! I will be sharing my children’s and husband’s opinions as well.

The first product is one that we used over and over again and were thrilled that we had it with us. My husband was a bit skeptical about why we really needed it, but boy was he ever so thankful that we had it with us on the very first day of our 9-day vacation!

- We forgot shampoo for my kids’ baths and were thrilled to find California Baby Shampoo/Bodywash and Bubble Bath!

- The stall in the airport was out of toilet paper so the Charmin To Go was perfect!

- We had a few spills in the car and the Bounty to go Mini Roll of Paper Towels was the best!

There is so much more inside the kit as well. It even came with a small flashlight with batteries included. We were so impressed with this kit and couldn’t get over how many times it came in handy and made travel easier! We were so thankful to have it with us on our trip. It has found its new home in my car and has been great to have on the go!

We also received some travel games such as Candy Land Travel Fun On the Run and Tangoes which my kids loved playing on the plane and when we had down time. They were both the perfect size to travel with. Also, with airplane food a thing of the past, we were well-prepared on the plane with great travel friendly treats. My kids enjoyed the Squeezers Peanut Butter & Jelly combo and individually wrapped Ritz Cracker packages while my husband and I had the Wild Garden Hummus To Go and Cracked Wheat Wafers which were delicious. We all liked the Kool-Aid 2 Go packets which we just dropped in our water bottles!

Organize your “cards” with a Card Cubby

Mitetees: The most adorable baby gifts

I simply adore the sample Rose shaped charm necklace I was given, and wear it all of the time. It’s very simple and elegant so that I can wear it dressed up for an evening out or everyday with a pair of jeans! I was super impressed that the cord can be easily adjusted to even fit even my 6 year old daughter!
