If you have a little girl, and she has hair … and I mean even the slightest, wisp of a lock … you need to order some of these Giddy Giddy clips.
And though I’m resisting the very strong, over-the-top urge to proclaim that I am “positively giddy” about these cute-as-a -button hairclips (even though I AM, I really am!), I WILL say that every single design is thoroughly, oooh-out-loud cute. Seriously, every one of them. I am somewhat partial to the food designs (love the Cupcakes, Peapod and Big Apple!), but the Flowers and Animals are super-sweet too!
These clips will have you running screaming from those plastic snap barrettes with hardly a glance back. And like every good product, they score high marks in function as well as form. They stay actually stay in (just make sure you choose the right size … the small clips work best for baby girls whose lovely locks are a bit more Homer Simpson than they are Rapunzel.)
Mention MWS in an email to Giddy Giddy, and receive $1 off each clip for ONE WEEK (through February 23).

Stamp of Approval

As you guys already know, I am a totally paper junkie. And happily, I found something that has made all my fab stationary even more fun … personalized address stamps from Laurie’s Laginappe.
Available in many different styles and colors, this product is a must-have! Even better, the stamps sell for only $25, which is a stone-cold bargain compared to the typical price of comparable products (believe me, I checked!). Another option? Make it an embosser instead for $45. Any sheet of paper or envelope will look like customized stationary.
In addition to the many designs available, Laurie offers a custom option. If you have a design in mind, they will help you make it happen. This service is normally $15 in addition to the cost of the stamp (still a great deal!), but Mommies With Style can take advantage of this FREE. This offer can be combined with 10% sitewide and free shipping for all MWS readers, using the code MWS. Promos are good through February 14, Check it out!
Note: Not only is Laurie’s customer service top-notch, the turnaround time for these customized stamps is a mere 24 hours! Instant gratification? Yes please!
Sweet Somethings

Not long ago, Zareen raved about Sweet Fletcher’s slings. Their signature products are no doubt simple, fashionable and functional.
And now (hip hooray!), Sweet Fletcher’s stylish fabrics are available in these very vintage-cool quilts. I love the prints, especially the Ansley Pink, which features my fave pink-and-brown color combo.
These perfectly sized quilts are not only beautiful, each one is hand made to order, making them a thoughtful and unique gift for any new mommy (even if that new mommy is you!). Mommies With Style can score 10% off with code MWS10Q.
Shopping for the Multi-Tasking Mommy
We all know that women are queens of multi-tasking. I for one, can make a mental grocery list, clean the living room and quiz my seven-year-old on spelling words … all while keeping a watchful eye on dinner in the oven. I’m far from super-girl, but as you all know, doing double (or triple!) duty comes with the mommy territory.
Shopping is no different. If I can get everything in the same place, in one fell swoop, I’m a happy girl.
In Style Moms is all about one-fell-swoop shopping. They’ve got a ton of great items for moms, dads, babies and toddlers, all in one spot. Their selection of jewelry is fabulous, with lots of eye-catching pieces. I get lots of comments on the Turquoise, Jade and Pearl Cluster Necklace I recently received, and I love the look of this Swirled Carnelian Necklace (you choose the leather length and color).
Shop jewelry, and much more with the code MWS10, and get 10% off through January 31.
NYC Valentine
I love, love, love Playdate NYC! Their line of kids clothing is a splash of originality in a mass-market, chain-store world. And even more to love … they are giving Mommies with Style a sneak preview (these styles pictured aren’t even on their web site yet!) of some brand-new designs that are just perfect for Valentine’s Day!
My favorite is the Cupcake design (so cute!), but the Kiss Me top is a close second. To order any of these new designs, plus a slew many more for both boys and girls, visit Playdate NYC’s web site. Shop with 10% off all orders placed through February 4 with the mention of Mommies With Style.
Sugar Mommy
Leave it to the daughter of Ralph Lauren to make candy fashionable. She did it, she did it well, and if you haven’t checked out Dylan’s Candy Bar yet, you really, really must. This shop is near the top of my list for places to visit on my next trip to NYC, but until then, the on-line shop is a worthy substitute.
And speaking of worthy substitutes, if resolutions and personal discipline have you skipping treats altogether, Dylan’s clothes and gifts are just as sweet. I love the look of this Dots shirt!
Shop with the code 7for07 and get $7 off your purchase of $50 or more.
Melissa’s Favorite Things
I had every intention of doing a 2006 Top Ten before … well … the end of 2006.
But it didn’t happen. And in the tradition of better late than never – and rather than pass up the opportunity to dish a bit more on the things that I’ve loved over this past year, I’m making it a favorite things list. And call me a material girl, but in my humble opnion, this stuff is way better than raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens. Way better. Plus, as a Happy New Year gift to all of you, lots of new or extended discounts to shop with!
So without further delay, here they are (in no particular order … drumroll please) my favorite ten products of 2006 …
Totally Radical Tees
My boys (yes, all THREE of them, including my husband) got a Gameboy DS this year. Now, I am a complete video-game hater, so the purchase was a personal defeat of sorts for me . But the kids love them, Daddy loves playing with them and we limit their “screen time,” so I suppose it MIGHT not be a sure sign of my parenting demise (right? right?).
This personal gaming revolution has brought a bit of Super Mario Bros. fever to our house. My sons LOVE Mario and Luigi (my daughter has been dubbed Princess Peach by default) and it’s so funny to see them crazy about characters that were big in my own childhood. Coveted items include everything from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show DVD (the boys’ spent their allowance on this at Target yesterday) to Nintendo apparel. The second was a bit harder to find, but I just found a great site for this and more.
80′s Tees had exactly what we were looking for, including a wide selection of Mario and Luigi shirts. I LOVE the selection of vintage Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss and Curious George tees. Plus, these Mr. Man and Little Miss (oh my gosh, remember those?) are the greatest!
Give in to nostalgia (Saved by the Bell and “Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner” are just a few more great tees) and check out their selection. Plus! Save 10% off when you sign up for their mailing list.

Start Spreadin’ the News
So maybe your Sunday mornings aren’t so glamorous as dishing with Carrie and the girls over brunch. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still add a bit of big-city fun to your life.
Playdate NYC has a fabulous line of playful designs for boys, girls and babies. I recently received a personalized shirt for my daughter (her name on the back and butterfly on the front), and it gets rave reviews wherever she wears it. Love these! And since each and every order is made based on your individual specifications, you’ll have a piece that’s truly unique.
Available in sizes three months to five years, adult designs can also be made to order. These would make an awesome baby shower gift, and also be a perfect big brother/big sister shirt option … one with loads more originality than the usual suspects. Playdate NYC is offering Mommies With Style 10% off through December 25 with the code mommieswithstyle. But start shopping soon … because Christmas will be here faster than a New York minute!
The Next Big Thing
I don’t know many mommies out there with a completed (read that key word, completed) baby book for each one of their darling bundles of joy. And while it could be that I just avoid women who are actually that on top of things because they give me a raging inferiority complex, I think it’s just kind of a rare thing …. a mommy anomaly if you will.
Believe me, I meant to scrapbook faithfully. I started out with all the best intentions, but inevitably life with three kids happened and reality set in. And after awhile my best intentions for those treasured keepsakes-to-be fell by the wayside … along with leisurely baths, matching lingerie and those size zeros that actually went past my thighs once upon a time.
Well, Big Day Books knows what it’s like. They’ve made a completed baby book a realistic part of my foreseeable future … one with pages that are created on-line. There are tons of fill-in-the-blank page designs that document big days and important firsts (appropriate for both birth and adoptions), and are quick and easy to complete. The books come in lots of beautiful cover designs, and each comes with 30 ready-to-print-at-home pages. And because Big Day is savvy enough to know that busy moms need MORE than one year to complete that baby book (or in my case, seven), it comes with an 18-month membership to their on-line page-creation area. Best of all, you can sign up for email reminders to help keep you up to date. Wanna check it out? Visit their web site to see the collection and create a sample page.
Big Day Books is offering Mommies With Style $15 off any book with the code happyholidays through the month of December. So get shopping!
A is for Angie
One of the very first things I found through Mommies With Style were wipes cases by Angie. And even though most of us here already know and love them, the praise bears repeating … they are the best! I have three long-potty trained children, but I’m not beyond wipes … not even close! Faces, hands, sticky tables, icky shopping carts … all mommies know that wipes are a life saver! My wipes case leaves my bag more often than my wallet …. thank goodness it’s cute!
Great for gifts, and to have extras around for each purse, diaper bag, car, etc. Pick some up now, as Angie is giving us 20% off for the holidays (through December 31). No code needed, so shop Made by Angie now!

Head Case
Do you have kids with great hair? Then you, my friend, are very lucky. My kids (well, two out of three) didn’t exactly get blessed with lovely wash-and-go locks. Don’t get me wrong, they are perfectly excellent and gorgeous kids … it just takes a little (a lot) of work to get their hair to cooperate.
My oldest son has baby fine hair … weightless, stick straight and STICKS STRAIGHT UP. I am talking Alfelfa-like (please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers that show) proportions. It takes some serious know-how to get it to lie just right. And don’t get me started on the perils of a winter hat. I shudder to think of what my son’s coif looks like at school for the afternoon when he comes in from recess! My daughter has another problem entirely. Baby fly-away wispies that never stay in her pigtails, not to mention a possible medical condition that apparently causes girls to shriek and squirm if required sit still and get tangles brushed out.
All this said, I’m always on the look out for products that help keep those miniature manes tamed. We loved The Original Little Sprout line! Not only do these all-natural products smell and work great, the company is committed to making products that are safe for kids and the environment. Celeb mommies like Brooke Shields, Diane Lane and Debra Messing all love The Original Little Sprout too. You can try them and receive a FREE GIFT with purchase. Just enter Mommies With Style in the comments section of checkout.
Note: According to the company, the FDA does not regulate the cosmetic industry. Therefore parents need to be extra cautious about the chemicals used in products we put on ourselves, and especially on our children. The Little Sprout line is free of Formaldehyde, DEA, Sulfates and Parabens. If this sounds like Latin to you (it did to me), you can research these things at this Little Sprout-recommended web site. You can also do a google search to investigate this topic further, and make the healthiest possible choices for you and your family.
