Baby Eggi: Clothing with a Conscience

Don’t you want to dress your kids in cool, adorable fashions and also take part in helping other kids in need at the same time? Yes, I’m sure you do. You’re conscience just told me. So be sure to take a peek today at what’s hatching over at Baby Eggi.
This hip little children’s line was created by two dedicated sisters (Moms) who were in search of a way to have hip, afordable clothes for their own little eggis (‘eggi’ means ‘baby’ in Korean) and who were also committed to supporting charity organizations for other less fortunate children as well.
Check out their variety of cute kids clothes for boys and girls, sized infant to 4T. They are very affordable and I especially love that 20% of their net proceeds go to children’s charities. Upon check out you are able to choose which charity you would like to help support.
Currently, Baby Eggi is partnered with two different nonprofit organizations:
ANSA (Artists for a New South Africa) – dedicated to combating the African AIDS pandemic and advancing democracy and equality in South Africa. ANSA also works to further civil rights and safeguard voting rights in the U.S.
Kids Courage Foundation – dedicated to offering hope for critically ill children and their families through financial support. Kids Courage helps cover costs of necessities that are not covered by private medical insurance and/or government medical assistance programs.
Not only will you love supporting these great organizations, but you and your kids will love the clothes too. Make sure you don’t miss out on the unique designs by tattoo artist Mark Mahoney. From dragons and fairies to tigers and celtic designs, Baby Eggi style is sure to liven up your little one’s wardrobe.

Stay Classy San Diego (and Everywhere Else) with Punkster Onesies and Tees

Thanks to Gumdrop Lane, my little man is getting as many laughs as Will Ferrell in ‘Anchorman’, but I’d like to think he’s still a little more “classy” than Ron Burgundy. These great onesies and Tees are designed by Punkster and are available through the online children’s boutique, Gumdrop Lane.
As you can tell, I got a real kick out of the “I’m kind of a big deal” onesie, but there are also many other really funny ones, like “iPood” and “Bluetoothless”. Not only are they funny, but they are made from the softest 100% organic cotton and they hold up great after much washing and wearing. Ours has been thoroughly tested with drool, spit up, and a variety of other baby related substances, if you know what I mean.
Let’s face it, parenthood is full of so many very serious situations and decisions that if you can enjoy a few laughs here and there it will remind everyone to relax and just have fun with it all. So get yourself a great deal on some super funny and cuddley soft baby wear at Gumdrop Lane. Use the code ‘mommieswithstyle’ to receive 15% off storewide.

Bravo for Bravado! Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra

Hip Hip Hooray! The perfect nursing bra finally exists!
You don’t believe me, do you? I know, I didn’t think it was possible either. After breastfeeding 3 babies I thought I had tried (i.e. wasted my money on) all of them. But now, my dear readers, the search is over. The treasure has been found! (Thanks to Nursing Mother Supplies.)
I’m telling you the honest truth, when I took it out of the pakage I thought “Oh, this looks promising” and then when I put it on, I knew… “OH, yes, now THIS is perfection!” But it’s kind of silly to get so excited just about a bra, right? Well, I think not. I’ve worn some annoyingly uncomfortable bras in my day and friends, if you’ve spent any time, in any bra, I bet you have too. AND, (are you ready for this?)… I might just continue wearing this bra AFTER I’m done nursing. Yes, you read that right. It IS that great.
Enough raving. “Details. We want Details!” I hear you.
The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra was designed to melt onto your body, and it does just that. It is SO comfortable. When I first started nursing I had to wear a bra 24/7 and this one is perfectly comfortable enough to sleep in. Now that my milk supply is more regulated I don’t need to sleep with a bra on, but there have been several nights lately when I have slept in it again because it was so comfortable that I simply forgot I was even wearing it at all. (Well, that, and the fact that I’m always so tired I’m almost sleep walking to bed anyway… but still!)
In addition to amazing comfort, this molded foam cup bra simultaneously offers a wonderfully seamless silhouette, lovely flattering shape and fantastic support (without underwire.) There are thin, removeable foam cups to give you the option of a thicker cup lining, which I found wonderful when wearing more form fitting clothing. Plus, the soft, stretchy material means there are only 4 different sizes, so you can easily get the right fit without having to have a degree in bra engineering. That versitility is also great if, like me, your sizing can change depending on how far pospartum you are, or even what time of day it is!
I gaurantee you won’t be disappointed in this nursing bra, but hey, if you are, just send it to me. I’d love to have extras!
Find your Bravado Body Silk Nursing Bra (and many other fabulous goodies for breastfeeding) at Nursing Mother Supplies and use the coupon code “SAVE10″ for a 10% total savings. Also go HERE to enter the “Breastfeeding is Green Contest” and have a chance to win a $300 gift basket. Sounds like that deserves a “Bravo!” too!

My Constant Companion: Cuddoozle Nursing Pillow

It came with me to the hospital, supported me when I held and nursed my newborn baby and has been my constant companion ever since. It even rests next to me at night, ready to ‘give a lift’ through those all too frequent nightime feeding sessions. Am I speaking of my dear hubby? A best friend or even my Mom? Oh no, this companion is even more loyal (and best of all, doesn’t have any opinions or advice.) Why, it’s my Cuddoozle Nursing Pillow, of course!
Cuddoozle (previously known as Naturally Norcott, Inc.) is where form and function meet to create fabulous products. Their range of Body Pillows, Maternity Wedges, Back Support Cushions, All-In-One Totes, and even Hooded Towels are all designed to support mothers and babies in every way.
Cuddoozle offers the “Original” Memory Foam Baby Nursing Pillow, which I feel is a must for every new Mom, whether breast or bottle feeding, due to the excellent support it offers for both baby and Mom… or Dad, or whoever is holding or feeding the baby. Trust me they’ll thank you when you share your Cuddoozle. The Patent Pending three layered Memory Foam Baby Nursing Pillow provides the ultimate in comfort and gentle support. Unlike other pillows it is ‘roomy’ and doesn’t sqeeze around the tender tummys of new Mommys. It also provides a nice level suface for baby to sit or lay while feeding or just holding, which is good because with rounded-top nursing pillows the baby can tend to roll too much into, or away from, the person feeeding him.
The icing on the cake of your Cuddoozle pillow though, is that it is naturally hypoallergenic! For extra defense, they’ve added a patent pending permanent, wipe away, breathable inner cover, which is Anti-mite, Anti-dust, Anti-microbial, hypoallergenic and waterproof. You can also flip flop the Nursing Pillow. No matter which way you wrap it around your waist, it is always the right side up. It also comes with an additional mulit purpose pillow to elevate your baby to correct breastfeeding height, to incline for reflux babies, to serve as an additional arm rest or even to use behind your back or head for support. There are carry straps on both pillows for easy toting while you’re holding baby too. Convenient little side pockets are great for storing small accessories, like pacifiers (or even your phone or remote control.) The Cuddoozle’s removable outer cover is also machine washable and comes in a varierty of cute fabrics.

Baby’s got Boob: Nursing Wear

Sacrificing fashion for function. It’s what all mothers have to do, right?
Well fortunately, not always. Boob Maternity helped break those stereotypes during my pregnancy with their fabulously fashionable (and comfortable) maternity line and they’re doing it again with their flattering collection of Boob Nursing Wear.
All of their nursing dresses and tops have an innovative design using a double layer of fabric across the bust line. This enables you to nurse comfortably and discreetly at the same time. The opening is easily accessed with just one hand and there are no clips, clasps, bottons or clumsy ties to deal with. Ahh, sweet simplicity! Because if there is anything I could use more of these days it’s simplicity (and an extra pair of hands.)
If you are nursing right now, or know someone who is, you really must try their Warmer Nursing Top. It is fabulous! So comfortable, so simple, so warm, so perfect… and did I mention slimming! It is a black, long-sleeved top with a grey, fleece-lined front panel to keep ‘the girls’ nice and warm. It has been my most worn post-pregnancy shirt. When I wore it out with some black sweatpants people actually thought I’d already lost the baby weight (ha ha ha.) Good thing for that front panel, because if I’d had to lift up the shirt and bare my tummy to breastfeed, they would have plainly seen that that is definitely NOT the case.
Next, I’m hoping to try one of the nursing dresses so that maybe I can actually wear a dress to church and not have to get completely undressed to breastfeed. That tends to make people a bit uncomfortable. Go figure.
Check out Boob today to view their Spring ’08 collection of maternity and nursing wear and to find stores near you.

Sharing the Love: Maternalove Nursing Tops

I love nursing my babies. It really is a special time of bonding and a chance to help my little angel grow. It does however, like everything else, come along with some unique challenges. Like what on earth to wear while your nursing your precious little treasure.
If your babies are anything like mine, when they’re hungry, they don’t have much patience for you fumbling around with bulky and cumbersome non-nursing friendly clothing. And if you are anything like me, you want to wear clothing that is fashionable, yet still offers you that quick-access convenience you need for impatient nursers. Not to mention a little bit of coverage for Mommy. I said I love nursing, but I don’t love showing everyone in the room that I’m nursing.
Thankfully the lovely people at Maternalove understand this.
With Maternalove’s wide range of nursing tops you can look great, feel comfortable and enjoy convenient functionality while breastfeeding. They’ve created some really great designs for convenient nursing.
Check out their latest fashions and make life a little bit easier, for you and your baby.

Green Pea Designs = Hands free mom of three

Problem: I now have three kids, but I still only have two hands. Solution: Green Pea Designs Baby Pouch, to the rescue!
I have always been a big fan of baby wearing, for a multitude of different reasons. Baby #1 “gently encouraged” me to try it by giving “subtle hints” like screaming her head off every time I put her down for more than 10 seconds. With her, and her Colic, babywearing became a way of life. Then baby #2 came along and I again tried various slings, pouches and wraps to allow me keep him safe and secure while chasing after the now toddling baby #1.
Now I have a third little angel and Green Pea Designs has come to my rescue with their beautiful Baby Pouch. (I have the ‘Reid’ fabric and I love it!) Aside from the gorgeous fabric choices, their pouches are very well designed and have a nice padded edge for baby’s comfort. I also love knowing that the company is a group of Moms who all work from home. No wonder they understand our need for a product that is fashionable yet economical, great for multi-tasking, ideal for breastfeeding, keeps baby safe, happy and comfortable all the while allowing you to bond with your baby too.
Check out Green Pea Designs for your babywearing solution and make sure to watch their great instructional videos too.

32 Weeks Pregnant: Looking forward to my Shower Hug

When my baby is born in a few weeks there are a lot of different hugs that I am looking forward to giving and receiving. One hug in particular that I know will bring me extra comfort is The Shower Hug by Belmama & Cherub.
This is a wonderful product that is very simple in design, yet offers endless uses that will provide comfort for nursing Moms during an often uncomfortable time. The Shower Hug was designed to shield sensitive breasts from harsh water sprays during showers, as well as to avoid contact of irritating soaps and shampoos on sore nipples. The Shower Hug offers many other helpful uses as well, such as giving bust support when breasts are engorged or when bra straps are uncomfortable, absorbing nighttime breast milk leaks so that you can take a break from irritating or sticky nursing pads and it also serves as a convenient, hands-free, way of holding warm or cold compresses on sore breasts. Another helpful use for The Shower Hug is to give tummy support and protection for post c-section recovery. It is super soft, easily adjustable and completely machine washable.
My Shower Hug is definitely coming with me to the hospital and I know it will be a constant companion during post delivery recovery and adjusting to nursing again. It’s the Hug that keeps on hugging!
Visit www.belliesandbooties.com to purchase your own Shower Hug and use the code “Tummy” for 20% off.

30 weeks pregnant: I feel Pretty! Oh so Pretty!

In the third trimester of pregnancy I can’t say that I’m feeling my ‘prettiest’ on a daily basis. But thanks to the styling of Schone Maternity there can be at least a few days when I do.
“Schone” is a Dutch word meaning “Clean Beauty”. The mission at Schone Maternity is to be “Eco Chic.” In other words, to make beautiful clothes that are aesthetically and literally clean. Each garment is made from environmentally friendly, fairly traded fabrics and is produced in fair labor practicing factories in the United States.
These clothes are made with such great attention to detail that there is no way to wear them and not feel pretty.
But besides looking pretty there is nothing that makes me feel prettier than doing something that’s beneficial to others. That is why I love the fact that Schone Maternity has also set up a wonderful ‘recycling program’. You can send your gently worn Schone Maternity clothes back to them and they will clean and repair the clothes before bringing them to ‘Momma’s House’, an organization which provides crucial support to young mothers. And, as if that wouldn’t make you feel pretty enough, they will send you a hand woven, richly hand dyed silk scarf from Laos as a thank you!
Now, how much prettier can you get than that?
So sing with me now, “See the pretty girl in that mirror there: Who can that attractive girl be? Such a pretty face, such a pretty dress, such a pretty smile, such a pretty me!”
Check out Schone Maternity for their Mid-Summer SALE. And keep checking back to order from the new Fall Collection coming soon.

28 Weeks Pregnant: Lounging in Luxury (Receiving Gown)

The Yukata Receiving Gown by Ruby Fay, available at In Style Moms, is ideal for every woman who wants something beautiful to lounge in. While It can be worn by anyone, I definitely think it’s the perfect thing for Moms-to-be who are looking for something special to wear at the hospital and later.
After a very long labor with my firstborn, I was so relieved to have my new baby that I didn’t take much notice of my appearance when we took all of the pictures. At the time, I probably would not have appreciated anyone who might have suggested that I consider ‘freshening up a bit.’ But in hindsight, I wish that someone had. Most of the pictures with me in them turned out to be less than fabulous, to say the least.
This time around I’m counting on the Yukata Receiving Gown to help give me that beautiful new Mommy feeling we all deserve to have post delivery. It will be so much nicer to see in pictures, and while receiving visitors (in the hospital and at home), than gowns with childish prints that the baby should be wearing, instead of you. Or even worse, the yucky standard issue hospital gown.
The beautiful fabric has a smooth, soft finish and is 100% cotton, imported from Japan. The gown itself is made in the USA.
Retail price is $85.00 at In Style Moms. MWS readers can use coupon code “MWS10″ to receive a 10% discount for anything on the site.
