Natural (and Cool!) Body and Bath Products for Mom and Baby!

No one said it is easy being a mom, right? All of us deserve to indulge ourselves every once in awhile, and I found a great site to help do just that.

Natty Products is an adorable site that features all natural products like body scrubs and butters, spa kits, bath soaks, and products especially for baby.

For mom: try the Chocolate Martini Scrub (half creamy chocolate and half soothing vanilla blended in sugar or salt!) or Phat Lips (a yummy flavored lip balm to get moisturized, pouty lips!), or maybe some Dreamy Treats Bath Bombs.

For baby: try the Organic Foaming Baby Wash (has easy, one finger foaming bottle!) You can use it as a body wash, shampoo or hand wash on your baby or toddler. And each Baby Wash comes with an animal bubble buddy, how fun! I tried the "Booty Butter Stick," which combines an all-natural diaper ointment blended with Shea Butter, Apricot Oil (yum! Smells so good!), and Vitamin E to keep your baby's bottom healthy and rash-free. It applies easily and is great to throw in your diaper bag or beach bag. It also works really well on your feet or elbows or other rough areas. I love the smell and texture, very yummy!

Indulge with some fun new products and save 15% until August 15th! Use code Baby at checkout, compliments of Mommies with Style!

Cool slings for Moms-on-the-go

I didn't know much about slings when my son was in his infant stage. I wish I had! There are so many neat ones out there - including these slings from SideCar Designs.

What's cool about these is that the prints are amazing - and they are reversible! (Love that!) So you're basically getting two slings for one with these. A pocket is provided to hold diapers and wipes. They offer their slings in all sorts of cool patterns -- solid prints, tapestry prints and more. One side can be patterned and the inside solid, to match whatever you're wearing...

The sling is easy to use. I've tested out lots of slings with this website now, and some of them feel flimsy, and I find myself confused how to wrap myself (let alone a baby) into them. These slings are one continuous loop - you order a sling based on your size, and it's apparent how you wear this sling with an infant. And they are sturdy feeling.

Enter "Mommies with Style" in the Notes section on SideCar Slings when ordering, and you'll receive free shipping! (It will be refunded to you after purchase.)

How about a little something for you

Recently, I've featured several adorable lines of baby tee boutiques. Well, I'm continuing on the tee-trend, but with a little something for you this time! Promom Couture makes stylish tees for the Mom who's kickin' it around the neighborhood running errands, but wants to look cute and have a send a fun message while doing it.

Some of the tees sayings read, "Knock Out Mom," and "Totally Mom." Or there's "Balanced Mom" which sports a ying and yang to show how balanced you are, despite your crazy schedule.

You can purchase their tees on adorable boutique Hannah Keeley, a site for "stay at home moms, working moms, homeschool moms and wannabee moms."

What's there to do but shop... shop... shop...

I know, I know, you're probably thinking, this girl must work for J Crew. Well, I don't (though I often wish I did as I'd love that discount!) I just keep getting wind of all of their specials and can't help but share.

So check this one out. Save an additional 40% off all sale items, now through July 31.

The Strapless Postcard Mini Dress featured here was originally $148. On sale, its $39.99. But through the 31st, you'll get it for $23.99!

And because we love our flip flops this summer, check out the Malibu Stripe Flip Flops. I bought my first pair in April for $18.50. My second pair, I purchased on sale for $9.99. With this discount, you'll get them for $5.99! Hmmmm... maybe I do need a third pair!

Time to get shopping ladies...

Find out the sex of your baby at 5 weeks??!!

I just caught wind of a new product that facinates me! The Baby Gender Mentor Home DNA Gender Test employs "cutting-edge, patent-pending technology to attain the earliest gender detection with unprecedented sensitivity and unsurpassed accuracy."

According to the site, 50-70% of parents-to-be want to know the sex of their unborn baby. I know I did! Of course I waited for the ultrasound to tell me that I was having a boy... but if I could find out at 5 or 6 weeks...I might have to know!

Recently featured on ABC's World News Tonight and NBC's Today show, the product promises 99.9% accuracy and a 200% money back guarantee (it costs $275, by the way).

Skeptical? Read the science behind it.

What do you think? Chat about it on the boards or post your comments here!

12 months of pregnancy, instead of 9

I can only think of one reason why it would be great to be pregnant for 12 months instead of 9... great SALES! Of course, it's easy for me to say this, not being pregnant, but I could see where being pregnant would be convenient just to take advantage of some of the current sales they are having at the big maternity stores on some of this year's summer items.

While in the mall today, I was with an 8-month pregnant friend who lured me into Mimi's "big sale" signs. They had some glorious summer strappy-dresses - marked down about a zillion times, some from in the $100s to $19.99. And it's not just Mimi, all the stores are doing it. This dress from Motherhood, in fuschia, is only $9.99!

Check out Mimi's end of Season sale and if you're pregnant now, get a few last minute, great items! And if you plan on being pregnant next summer, go crazy - this sale is for you!

Post your dirty diaper stories and win free address labels!

Week two of our chat board contests! This week's challenge is a topic: your best dirty diaper story. Come share your nastiest story with us. Make us laugh!

This week works just as last week's did but will be extended for a few days - post today, and come the end of the weekend, we'll have the five top stories in a poll and you'll again have two days to vote on the winner.

The prize: UBU personalized address labels and gift stickers from our sponsor, Bud to Blossom. Pick cartoon characters to match your family, add your name and address on the return labels! The gift stickers are also personalized with your choice of heads/bodies to match your child! (I love the idea of gift stickers -- think of how much money you spend on gift cards at various kids birthday parties -- this way you save the money and stick a gift tag right on the present!)

Visit our chat boards to post your story...

Custom bedding... for less!

When it was time to buy bedding for my son, Jacob, I decided that I *must* have custom bedding. I love playing with fabrics and colors and I was excited to create something special just for him. A couple of my friends and family thought I was slightly nutty to pay custom prices, but I didn't care! (But I have to say... I did get the bedding on sale!)

Though I love my bedding, I now know of a custom-bedding company that creates beautiful items... FOR MUCH LESS. Let me tell you, when it is time for #2 (and maybe even Jacob's big boy bed), I will certainly be calling Javis Davis.

Javis Davis makes it fun and easy to create unique bedding and accessories for your child's room and your budget. They offer a complete line of linens for crib through queen-size, as well as decorative pillows, valances, totes, and more.

And the prices are amazing for custom! Four-piece crib sets starting at $245 (includes crib coverlet, bumper, crib sheet and crib skirt). Decorative pillows from $23. Twin coverlets starting at $90. Fabrics as low as $8.50 per yard. Woo-hoo!

They are extremely easy to work with and offer complimentary design consultations right over the phone! They will also send up to 10 samples of fabric collections (5-7 fabrics that go well together) at no charge, so you can try fabrics out in your room before you commit.

Anyone in the market for new bedding for a crib, toddler/twin bed, or even your own bed should check Javis Davis out.

Tasty, cheap lip gloss

Admittedly, I'm a make-up novice. Even before motherhood, I never really wore anything other than lipstick here and there. I'm not expert -- and I'm all about quick and easy in the morning and that usually doesn't involve much make-up at all. (It's a good thing our other MWS reviewers are much more make-up savvy!)

So while trying to kill time while waiting for a prescription the other day, I found myself out-of-place, wandering down one of the make-up aisles. I don't know what drew me to this lip gloss in particular - or what may have actually possessed me to buy it, but I did.

Bonnebell's line of lipLITES is cheap and fun when for your daily on-the-go schedule. It's full of moisture and it actually stays on a lot longer than other lip glosses I've tried. I got it in Vanilla Swirl (which even smells like vanilla) and it comes in several other cool colors as well. Check it out on Drugstore.com for $3.49. It currently qualifies for free shipping. And be sure to check out their current 10 for 10 sale.

Personalized address labels and more to match your family!

You've probably seen these before – address labels, gift stickers, note paper, etc. -- with cartoon faces that are personalized to match your family. I think they are just adorable. I ordered a set of address labels last year when my son was just a few months old - and since then, all of our friends and neighbors have done the same.

Made by U.B.U. Personalized Products, there are tons of fun items to choose from, and tons of different heads, bodies, hair styles, and more to customize the item to match your family.

Bud to Blossom - one of our favorite online retailers for stationary products - and run by Mommies with Style member Jen, is a U.B.U. authorized dealer, and is offering a great deal on their address labels, gift stickers, and note cards right now. Check out the products… and in your order, mention Mommies with Style for an additional 20% off! (To place an order, email Jen to get started personalizing!)

Unique diaper bag from LaPora Designs

Diaper bags are certainly the most-requested product review we get here on Mommies with Style. I don't know one stylish Mommy who doesn't have a bit of an obsession with their quest for the perfect diaper bag. And the diaper bag industry is quite a business - from vinyl to canvas, funky prints to classic ones, they come in all shapes and sizes (big to extra-big!)

I was intrigued to review theHotMomma diaper bag, as it's something a bit different. It's a messenger style bag and it's designed to work best hooked onto your stroller. It folds over and functions "inside-out" - the outside flap folds over and gives you easy access to all your immediate needs.

Also included is a "on-the-go" removable bag - giving you quick access to your wallet. It's also convenient for quick trips when you might be without your baby, or out for a short errand when you don't want to tote the bigger version of the bag.

It also has the outside vinyl material that you can wipe clean! Use coupon code "mommieswithstyle" for 20% off the purchase of a HotMomma diaper bag. Enter the coupon into the comments field for an instant rebate (the rebate will come after check-out.)

A perfect shower gift for a sassy mommy-to-be!

What a great new bag--especially for the new mommy! Chester Handbags recently remodeled their diaper bags to include even more. The messenger has 2 outside pockets with mulitiple compartments, 6 inside pockets, plus a detachable insulated bottle pocket (something I really needed as I carried around an extra bottle bag--what a pain that was.) It also includes a zipper cosmetic bag, a key chain holder and, on the straps, a velcro attached cell phone holder.

Wait! There's more! The bag comes with a drawstring bag that holds a changing mat and a burp cloth. The messenger has a top zipper closure and a fold-over snap. The lining of the bag is waterproof and the exterior fabric is printed nylon.

Chester also offers tote diaperbags, cosmetic bags and picnic blankets, all in fun, stylish patterns. And check out their sale section, with lots of trendy fabrics.

Chester Handbags is currently offering 20% off all items (even sale items!) Enter the code AUGSEP05B into the "comments" section during checkout. The discount will not immediately be reflected on your order confirmation--it will be done afterwards and will show up on all credit card statements. All this and free shipping!

I'm really impressed with this bag... its time for me to take advantage of this offer and stock up -- one or two for me, and a few gifts, too.

Something for your "other" kids

I just couldn't resist featuring this site. Lindsay Designs is a one-woman boutique based out of northern California. She has some precious preppy products for sale. Her ribbon belts and handbags are stylish and trendy. I just love the new "Sicily Tote", which I definitely think could serve as a toddler tote. (Hint, hint hubby!)

But my favorite are the items I want to get for my "other" kids -- the pet collars! I can't stand how adorable these collars are for a cat or dog. She offers cat collars, and dog collars of various sizes. She even sells adorable leashes!

Gweneth dons Apple in headphones, and Pumas

This picture's been printed up in a few magazines now. The photo is taken from Live8 in London - Gweneth Paltrow is holding daughter Apple as they are waiting for Daddy (Chris Martin of Coldplay) to take the stage.

Apple wears protective headphones from UK-based company Peltor Kid. Apparently they are very comfy with cushions and fit a child up to age 8. Definitely a smart purchase by Apple's parents - those concerts can be very loud and damaging to little ears!

And although this photo has been cut off, Apple was also wearing these red infant/toddler Pumas, which I'm a big fan of! (Full picture is printed in both People Magazine and Life&Style).

What are our favorites?

You asked... we organized! Someone recently asked me what my favorite baby book was. They said they had been on the site, but didn't have the time to "dig around" and find the appropriate baby book as they were in a hurry.

So I surveyed myself, Jen, Julie and Mariana, and put together a list of "favorites" for our readers. We selected categories we thought might be of interest. Anyway, if you're looking for a quick recommendation - check these out! These are, of course, our own opinions based on our own experiences - I hope that some of the ideas here might help some of you out.

The favorites lists will be permanently linked to from the About Us page and each reviewers bios.

Whitney's Favorites
Jen's Favorites
Julie's Favorites
Mariana's Favorites

Thanks to Jen, Julie and Mariana for putting their lists together! And if you have some favorites you think we missed out on listing - please come share them on our chat boards.

Back to school sale on Ella Bags

For those of us who love bags, here's another discount at Ella Bags. Save $10.00 and receive free shipping with any $85.00 purchase or more. Use the coupon code BTSS5497 to receive the discount.

We're featuring the Lily in Daisy Field which is a pre-made bag. But the great thing about Ella is that you can select your own bag, from fabrics to shape and size to accessories, like adding extra pockets or a key clip (a personal necessity).

I love playing on Ella-bags. They have great features, like movable fabric swatches so you can see what the fabrics will look like next to each-other. Give yourself some well deserved "me-time" and enjoy.

Save Big Time at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale!

Please don't make the same mistake I made today... don't go to Nordstrom's! It was so crowded, so busy, so hot, it was crazy there! Understandably, today is the first day of their excellent Anniversary Sale, where fall clothing is introduced at lower prices (usually 30-40% off!). The same items get marked "back up" when the sale is over (August 1st) and don't go on sale again until next year.

A nice alternative to going to the crazy store is... you guessed it... shopping online! The Anniversary Sale is in full force online and you will find many of the same great deals (plus other items you can't find in the store) on sale.

I got these cute Pumpkin Patch pants today for Jacob. Normally $28.50, I got them for $20.90. I think that's a great deal! Enjoy shopping, and shop early to get the best selection!

If only I had viewed this the first time around...

Before my son was born, I was terrified of breastfeeding. More scared of that than labor! After a year of nursing, I'm happy to say I survived and I'm not so scared this time around. But the beginning was extremely trying.

I wish I knew then what I know now. And if I had viewed The Real Deal on Breastfeeding, I would have been so much more prepared. The Real Deal on Breastfeeding features real moms discussing the ups and downs of one of the most natural practices of parenting. The moms are extremely honest, they tell each other (and you) how they did it, why, when... everything you need to know. Sitting on my sofa, I felt like I was in the room with them, nodding, laughing and crying. Having been through a tough beginning, I identified with comments about having trouble latching on, the smile on your baby when he is full, and the tears when its time to wean.

The video also features a lactation consultant who answers questions, gives advice, explains the how-to's and works with a brave new mom to show you how to breastfeed correctly. Let me tell you, I had no one to show me this last time--I really could have used it!

Finally, a doctor answers medical questions that float through your mind like, is a glass of wine okay? and what are the chances of getting pregnant while breastfeeding?

The women who created the production are real moms, both who struggled with breastfeeding the first time around. The Real Deal on Breastfeeding approaches the viewer straight on. This DVD is a million times better than the yawn of a breastfeeding class I took pre-labor.

Whether you're about to have baby number one, struggling with breastfeeding and need some support, or getting ready to have a second, third or fourth, this is a DVD you need to have. Watch it to learn, to identify, to remind you of what you CAN do. Mommies With Style readers can get 15% off the retail price for The REAL DEAL on Breastfeeding using the coupon code mommieswithstyle.

(And, for you sentimental moms like me... have a box of tissues near by, some of the comments you'll identify with beyond belief. And wait till you see the baby latch on quickly with his eyes wide--I had forgotten that adorable look!)

Get this toy - for free!

ToysRUs is having a big sale right now - and you can currently get this toy (and others) for free with a $40 purchase.

Click through and read the details. But if you purchase $40 worth of any toys in their "toy outlet" you can then select a toy and add it to your cart for free. There are some great toys on sale -- including Chicken Dance Elmo (50% off at $9.98!) and the Whoozit Musical Mobile marked down 73% to $13.48!

Use coupon code STBTFREETLTY at checkout and make sure to add one of the free toys to your shopping cart!

Handmade cards on Sidepony

How funny are some of the slogans crafted on the cards for sale on Sidepony? The cards have witty phrases that serve all sorts of occasions from baby-related to "just because."

My personal favorites are some of the "just because" cards that really had me laughing -- "i love corn dogs" and "cool it, sister" are two amusing phrases. Each design has an old-fashioned, classic look with a big of sass mixed in that makes these cards adorable to send!

Baby tees are also available with cute phrases as well. Write "mommieswithstyle" in the comments section of your baby tee order and you'll receive a free greeting card of choice! (Be sure to also include what card you'd like!)

Tees with "at-tee-tude" (and more) on Kiddie Kouture

"Princess," "drama queen," "big sister," "little man," "big brother" and more are some of the great slogans you can get on a tee from Kiddie Kouture's At"tee"tude collection. They also offer tees with gorgeous fabrics and shapes in their "special tees" selection.

I'm also a big fan of some of the accessories they offer for girls, including the hair clips and Boutique Ribbon Belts.

Use coupon code "mommieswithstyl" for 25% off your purchase of any clothing or accessories on Kiddie Kouture!

Exquisite hand-made items from Green Little Beans

Nothing can compare to the personal feeling hand-made items can evoke. And you can find some gorgeous hand-made items on Green Little Beans. The baby clothing and accessories offered are all made in Brazil, and crafted of the finest materials.

The delicate details found on their items make them unique to anything you can find in the big stores. The baby booties are just precious - they are hand-knitted and made of wool and sure to keep your little one's toes warm! I also love the summertime sweater, knit in cotton and adorned with little flower buttons. It comes in a classy plastic gift bag that makes this a great newborn gift choice.

In the field that asks "how did you find out about Green Little Beans," write "mommieswithstyle" for 15% off your entire order. After your order is placed, you will receive an email confirming the discount.

Heath and Michelle's baby will be getting all sorts of fun items

Sarah from Celebrity Baby Blog sent me this baby registry list of Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams' - not sure if it's legit or not but it could be! (Celebs have to register somewhere too, right?)

They registered for all the basics, plus many additional cool items. They listed this Einstein Play Mat which, if you're itching to buy it for them, you can find for cheaper on Amazon! (Currently on sale for $47.99.)

Also listed is the Fisher Price Dual Lights Receiver/Monitor, which seems to be the hot monitor to buy these days - several of my friends with newborns now use this monitor.

Lastly, they listed the NYC Lila Guide, which is know as the "Zagats for Parents." If they publish one for your metro area, be sure to check them out - the guide lists restaurants/stores/services in each area that are baby and family friendly.

Its your LUCKY day, treat yourSELF to something special

Since I was little, I've always loved running out to the mailbox, opening it, and finding something special inside. A magazine is one of my favorite surprises. Its new and unexpected and always has something for me to learn and enjoy.

Lucky and Self Magazines are offering a cross-promotion. 74% off when you subscribe to both. So, you'll get a year of both magazines for only $20. I've been reading Self for years--I love the well-living tips and ideas. And Lucky is a great mag for fashion, beauty, home and travel.

Isn't it about time that mommies can have some me time? Order today and enjoy endless hours of positive, relaxing reading.

I'm all about mess-free these days

This year's birthday gift to my mother-in-law was an idea we stole from a good friend: finger painting and framing his artwork. I accidentally picked up Crayola's "Mess Free" finger-painting pack. I read the back of the package and it explained that the paint went on invisible (invisible to clothes and furniture too - yahoo!) only I didn't understand that it would only work with the "special paper."

We went back to the store for some regular finger paints and construction paper (which made a nice big mess) but I kept the Crayola Mess-Free paints and I'm so glad I did, because he loves playing with them and I love the no-clean factor!

Check out the whole variety pack on Toysrus.com for $14.99. Makes for a great rainy day product with little clean-up hassle.

Great, comfy, custom bibs, burp clothes, and more!

A friend of mine introduced me to Chenille Dreams... a company that makes adorable, functional, and well-priced custom baby products. Cara, the owner of Chenille Dreams, makes custom bibs (you pick the fabric!) backed with blue, white, or pink chenille. Fabric choices are endless...puppie dogs, rodeo, cowboy, pink poodles, vintage bikes, bugs, fruit, yippee cowboy, makeup, lollipops, crabs, lobsters, life is just a bowl of cherries, eggs and pancakes, and more.

I have a few of her bibs for Jacob and I love them! Not only are they very soft, but they are nice and big (great for his messy eating and bottle-feeding!) and stylish too! You can also reverse the bib for another cute look. I like to use the chenille side to wipe Jacob's milky face since it is so soft!

Chenille Dreams also makes flannel wipes/washcloths (they are two layers of soft flannel!), applique oneises with matching burp cloths, and more. Cara sent me a ton of pictures, but unfortunately I can only share a few here. They are adorably packaged, so they also make great gifts.

To see more photos, place an order, or contact Cara, please email her at carakilian@hotmail.com. Bibs and burp clothes are $8.99 each, wipes/washcloths are $6.00 for a set of 3, and mention Mommies with Style and receive free shipping for the first 10 customers!

Rockin' tees give your baby's wardrobe some personality

Angelic Genius creates t-shirts with sassy designs for babies ages newborn to 4T. Tee themes play off old familiars but with a fun spin: "Nutrition Facts" lists baby's ingredients as total baby fat, diaper filler, total cuteness and rock 'n roll attitude. "Barcode" tees tell us what kind of persona baby has: rockstar, supermodel, tycoon or socialite.

New product tee "I Love Cereal" plays on an familiar product (the font makes it obvious) but lets everyone know that your baby prefers his sugar in the form of something a little healthier!

Many of AG's tees also have a hip rock and roll theme: "The Drool" is one of several worth checking out.

One of Angelic Genius' designs was featured in an April 2005 issue of US Weekly. Desperate Housewives' James Denton's baby girl was given their J'ADORE MILK onesie, where it was purchased at LA-hotspot Kitson.

An all-terrain stroller that really does it all

Peg Perego, the high-end Italian stroller designer, has just released the new AT-4. If you're the type of mom who enjoys classic style with modern technology, add the AT-4 to your wish list! This baby has tough, all-terrain wheels with high tech cushioning and adjustable 4-wheel suspension for city walking, woodland strolling, or anything in between. Mention the smooth-ride ball bearings and semi-pneumatic tires to perk up you resistant husband's ears.

The AT-4 converts to a classic pram style stroller, allowing your baby to lay perfectly flat, perfectly padded, and perfectly suspended in a cloud of plush Italian fabrics. The generous canopy unzips to reveal full sun coverage, keeping your child sun-free at any angle. Some nice perks includes "remote control" open-close feature, 2-position adjustable footboard, adult cup holder and handlebar console, child's fold-out cup holder, generous basket, automatic car seat attachment, height adjustable handlebar, and many more fun gadgets and buttons to play with.

I just saw one in person today at my local stroller shop and was thoroughly impressed! This is one sharp looking stroller, and doesn't scream "pram" or "jogger". This is a nice alternative to pushing your three-wheeler around the mall, without compromising a smooth ride on all terrains. Truly a do-it-all stroller.

Purchase the Peg Perego At-4, now in stock at Stroll and Go with fast, free shipping!
