Ahhhhh... Absolute Comfort for Baby and Mommy

My baby is the most cuddly thing I ever met. And I love cuddling with him. But there's a point everyday where I just can't cuddle with him anymore. He's gets heavy, squirmy, and big brother wants to play at the train table... oh, and dinner needs to be cooked. So, for a while, I tried to put the baby down in the swing, or the high chair, or his bouncy seat... but no matter where he goes, he starts crying out. And as soon as I lift him, he's silent again.

So a few friends recommended "wearing" him. My first thought, I'm petite, the slings and pouches will take up my whole body. Plus, he'll get in the way... or what if he falls out??

Well, I tried it, and it didn't take long for me to LOVE wearing him! When I put my little guy in my Hotsling Fleece Pouch, I'm comfortable, and he's in heaven. Seriously, whether awake or asleep, he has the most content look on his face.

The Hotsling is so well made. The stitching is very secure, and I'm not fearful of dropping him at all. The fleece is very thick, so it almost feels like there is padding on my shoulder--which means no strain. And its so soft! DS is cuddly inside the sling: he's warm, padded and still so close to me.

Along for the Ride carries Hotslings and another carrier, the Mei Tai Baby Hawk, in a range of stylish fabrics. I love the Blue Lilly Pouch and the Flashback Reversible Pouch is so fun! Buy any 2 carriers and receive $10 off your order at Along for the Ride! Enter voucher code tenoff2 at checkout to receive your discount. Offer is valid with any combination of carriers. This offer cannot be combined with any other special or discount.

The baby featured in this picture isn't mine, but he pretty much defines my little guy's comfort in our Hotsling.

Be consistent with the Time Out Spot

No matter how good your baby may be, they grow into a toddler with opinions who is difficult to handle. Time-outs are an option for many parents.

We started time-outs at 13 months. I wasn't really sure where to put my son for his time outs - we moved around a lot: the bottom of the stairs (didn't work, he'd just turn around and crawl up), the sofa chair in our living room (he thought it was fun) and finally settled on a chair in the kitchen. The key is to finding one spot and being consistent with it. Which makes the Time Out Spot a good purchase for those looking for somewhere to do their time outs.

You can pick a place and lay down the rug. Time Out Spot recommends time outs from ages 18 months plus, and one minute for each year your child's age. (1 year/1 minute, 2 years/2 minutes, etc.)

Time Out Spots are $22 each - you can pick round or square, pink or blue. Use coupon code "mommieswithstyle" for 10% off.

Free Shipping at LLBean

No coupon code required. Offering free shipping through December 22, 2005.

Making the offer even better, a lot of their winter items are already on sale.

Enjoy!

Here's something different - if you like bandanas, or are looking for a Western-theme, check out the Bandana Boutique. They make some original items, all made from bandanas - like bandana coasters, a bandana silkie for your newborn, Bandana Bright Books (to help teach your toddler colors) and more. Also, check out their baby wipes cases, made by MWS member Angie (www.madebyangie.com).

OiOi diaper bag winner

Congrats to Monica B. from MI for winning our Koolroomz OiOi diaper bag contest!

Home spun chic on Petunia Petunia; 20% off

When it comes to newborn blankets, it's all about the fabric to me. I'm like the old women in the grocery store squeezing the fruit -- only with me, it's pawing the blanket and rubbing it between my fingers. Nothing is too soft for me -- or for an infant's new skin.

I'd love to wrap up any baby (or myself, for that matter) in some of the items from Petunia Petunia. Many of their plush blankets are made of cashmere, they're rich and gorgeous looking. And even their cotton blankets are made of the softest cotton, perfect for an infant. I personally love some of their kid blankets, like this choo-choo blanket - perfect for a boy's train-themed room.

And a fun baby shower gift for sure would be one from their "pocket" blanket line - soft cotton blankets that come with small pockets with different animals inside.

Petunia Petunia is a very popular boutique with the celebrities - just a sampling of celebrities that own some of their items includes: Britney Spears, Jennifer Garner, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Debra Messing. Each of them owns a different group of some of Petunia Petunia's woobies and blankets.

20% off any purchase made by November 30th with coupon code MWS201105.

Create a Good Father with The Goodfather

Ever wonder how Dads-to-be feel after the baby shower? I'm sure they're thrilled because gifts were received and that's one more penny to go into baby's college fund. But I have to imagine Daddy's feeling the slightest jealousy because Mommy's ooohing and ahhing over her hot new diaper bag and he has, well, nothing of his own.

Thanks go out to Dr. Moz who produced a CD-rom for dads-to-be, The Goodfather. This hilarious parody features a glossary of terms important to becoming a "good father." And, the best part--its written in guy-speak. You know, nothing touchy-feely and fluffy, just straight-forward gimmee-the-facts-when-I-need-'em talk.

The Goodfather also features a huge list of baby names. You pick the first letter, it lists the names. And if daddy likes the name, he can add it to his favorites list. Finally, there's a greeting card maker, for announcements, invites and thank yous.

Through November 30, Spoon Sisters is offering a Mommies with Style special: use coupon code goodfather to order as many of The Goodfather DVD's on one order as you would like and receive $8.50 off each. Stock up now, its a great gift for your brother-in-law this Christmas... or your neighbor's husband at her baby shower.

Melissa & Doug deal of the day at Creative Trains

I've become a bit addicted to these "Train of the Day" deals from Creative Trains, as my son is literally obsessed with Thomas. I have MWS Reviewer Julie to thank for telling me about CreativeTrains.com in the first place.(my wallet and husband thank you so much Julie...)

They sell not just Thomas items, but other brands and toy sets (like Jay Jay the Jet Plane and more). Today's deal of the day on Creative Trains is the cutest little sandwich making set from Melissa & Doug. And since I've already bought two things from them in the past month, I have to hold back - but I thought I'd share with the rest of you. It's free shipping on all orders over $30.

Stay organized with the MomAgenda

I was never one for a day planner - even in college I always kept my schedule and assignments "in my head," and surprisingly, I never forgot anything. But leave it to becoming a Mom to totally frazzle me and turn me into someone who can't keep today straight, let alone tomorrow. At first I thought, I stayed organized at work through Outlook - I can do the same at home, right? Wrong - that didn't keep me all that organized either. My appointment reminders would pop up - when I wasn't in front of the computer.

So I was excited to check out the MomAgenda. It's gorgeous. And I'll admit, it's not cheap, but you pay for quality and this book is not only stylish looking, but well-organized. It would appear to be best suited to Moms of multiple kids, as there are sections below YOUR schedule for up to four kids' schedules as well. (I envision this to be the spot you fill in for dance lessons, soccer and more.) But it's working fine for us for Mommy & Me, playdates and the other ways we keep busy here.

Check it out on MomAgenda.com. The Mom Agenda is $110, refills are $45. Neiman Marcus carries a special line of it.

Pinxav Diaper Rash Cream

Pinxav_125x125banner Over the last couple of weeks, I started shopping for the baby's toilette. There are a lot of diaper rash creams out there so I was sort of perplexed about which to buy. Every friend or family member I've spoken to has sworn by one particular brand as being the best, but I'm excited to try Pinxav.

According to their website, Pinxav is much more effective than any other diaper rash cream because it is thicker and adheres to the skin better than any other product. While it protects the skin, it has ingredients working hard at healing the existing diaper rash. The combination of aloe, vitamin E, oil of wintergreen, oil of clove and eucalyptus is a powerful combination of healing plants that has proven to be very effective. Additionally, it is the longest existing diaper rash cream in America owned by the same family since 1927.

Also, this family-owned company ONLY makes Pinxav and is solely devoted to this one area of a baby’s skincare health and have never tested on animals.

The fact that they have a money back guarantee is reassuring but more than than, the fact that no one to this date has asked for their money back speaks volumes.

Special offer: Receive free 2-day shipping and 4 free .33 oz. sample size containers of Pinxav (great for your purse, diaper bag, etc.) with every order.

Britney Spears' son Sean is Uncommonly Cute

Uncommonly_cute_banner_234x60 Sean Preston Spears Federline is Uncommonly Cute. How do we know? Because Britney's month old babe (born September 14) is rocking tees from Uncommonly Cute that say "Swinger," "Elmo is My Homeboy" and "Player."

Uncommonly_cute_elmo_is_my_homeboyUncommonly_cute_playerUncommonly_cute_swingerUncommonly Cute's other tees and onesies say things like "Freshly Baked," "Cool Chick," "Rock Star," "Future Mrs. Pitt" and "Local Celebrity." They carry sizes for preemie, newborn and infant to 24 months. (My daughter Anya will be wearing their onesies that say "Local Celebrity" and "Copyright 2005.")

Special offer: use promo code “cute” for 20% off!

Jennifer Garner's baby shower: adorable burp cloths and bibs

Reliable sources informed us that Jennifer Garner's baby shower was held over the weekend. One of the gifts she was given by her best friend was several items from one of our boutique favorites, Baby Sophia Gifts.

Returning Mommies with Style members know Baby Sophia Gifts -- where you can find classy burp cloths and bibs that are embroidered with babies' names, or cute sayings on them.

Jennifer Garner received two burp cloths and two bibs with her baby's name or monogram personalized on each. (We know the name but we're not telling so don't even try - our lips and keyboard-fingers are sealed!!)

The burp cloths she received were the green with pink dots and the hot pink
dots ribbons, and her bibs were pink toile and bright flowers.

Visit Baby Sophia Gifts and check out all the gorgeous patterns. October is
currently Referral month - so order then refer a friend and you get a free
burp cloth/bib.

Someone stop me from getting this

Here's a great deal on Amazon. I'm having to hold myself back from clicking "Add to Shopping Cart," since my son just adores the crawl through-tunnels and balls.

Normally $99.99 but marked down to $49.99, this pop-up playset is great - it offers tunnels, a bunch of different compartments and a basket for basketball.

Introducing a cool diaper bag: Lexie Barnes (and 20% off!)

Here's one I had neither seen nor hear about before on the many "diaper bag" communities I'm on. So on a recent visit to online boutique My Little Ducks, I became intrigued with Lexie Barnes diaper bags.

I'm very picky when it comes to diaper bags, and I'm just thrilled with this bag. I've now seen the Darling, and it's everything I've wanted in a toddler tote. It's smaller than the usual diaper bag. To compare: I'd say close to, but a little smaller than a Skip Hop.

All the pockets and spots to organize my things that I need: two bottle holders on the outside (one for mine, one for his!), several pockets inside for cell phone, keys and more. And even better, it has the stroller loops to clip it on your stroller. (Or you can hang it over the bars - the strap is certainly long enough.)

For those of you looking for something a little bigger, try the Superstar, which offers all the Darling offers, plus additional space and pockets.

You can buy the Darling for $90 and the Superstar for $120 on both the Lexie Barnes website, and My Little Ducks.

Both stores are offering a generous 20% off coupon. Use coupon code STYLIN20 to receive 20% off your Lexie Barnes diaper purchase on either site. Coupon expiration is December 15th.

And while you're on the Lexie Barnes site, be sure to check out her other non-diaper bags - she carries some other adorable lines! Both Nicolette Sheridan of Desparate Housewives and Nanny Deb from Nanny 911 own bags from her Lady B knitting line.

Get Your Baby Movin'.....

Babyride is a site that has everything you need for a baby on the move! I came across this site and was just amazed at the huge selection of products they carry. They stock one of the largest varieties of ride-on toys that I have ever seen! In addition, they have an amazing selection of high quality brands of strollers, jogging strollers, neat toys and cool accessories at the lowest possible prices.

They have so many incredible Pedal Powered Ride-On Toys! One that I thought was fabulous is the Kettler Kid Tractor with Front Loader. It is now on sale for a limited time. The realistic front-lifting hood and squeaker horn make it feel like the real thing, while the easy to use front loader allows for hours of creative play. They also have some really neat Battery Operated Ride-On Toys. Check out the John Deer Power Pull Ride-On Tractor or the BMW Z4.

Additionally, the site features some of the most adorable animal rocking toys! Some of them even move their mouths while singing songs. Ruff, Ruff, Oink Oink, Mooooo! Check out the marvelous plush rocking horse, cow, pig, dog, lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, tiger, camel, golden retriever, st. bernard and pink poodle to name just a few! Some of these rockers can hold up to 300 pounds and have a safety stop that prevents rocking too far forward or backward. Take a look at some of their other marvelous rocking toys as well!

These toys will make fabulous holiday gifts, so keep Babyride in mind when your shopping begins!

From now until October 31st, take $5.00 off any order when using code: Spooky05 (Maclaren & Peg Perego Excluded)

Cover your guy's spouting peepee with a teepee

The first couple days home from the hospital with your newborn are exhausting. You're tired and trying to figure things out. One of the things I remember "figuring out" was how NOT to get peed on. All you Moms of boys out there have been there, right? Even though I thought I'd have "the block" down - my son seemed to find several ways to hit me (or my mother, or my husband or whoever was in the line of fire.) It was always a gross but amusing moment. And I'm convinced that first smile wasn't gas but a "haha" after one such moments.

Well here's a completely cute and funny way to protect yourself from the line of fire: the PeePee TeePee from KoolRoomz. This is such a great baby shower gift for that friend expecting a boy - it's sure to get a room full of expecting and knowing mothers laughing.

Use coupon code MOMSTYLE for 10% off your order at Koolroomz.

And speaking of Koolroomz, have you entered our OiOi diaper bag giveaway that they are sponsoring? Click for details, and hurry! The contest closes after this weekend.

Better than a Boppy: comfort for your toddler

For months, our Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair has been at the top of my son's "favorite comfort item" list. (And my, "so worth the money" list.) But now, I think that his new DreamKuddle pillow may be vying for top spot.

First off, I have to say that I never even knew he wanted a pillow. Sure, he leans on ours when he cuddles in bed with us - but he's been happily sleeping in his crib for 22 months without one.

Somehow though, he knew the DreamKuddle was for him. Because as soon as I opened up the box, he was all over it. He pulled it out, dragged it away from me and laid on it to watch Sesame Street. And when I tried to lean on it myself yesterday, I got the standard, "no, mine!"

It's certainly a hit in our house - and I know why. It's soft, and it's toddler-sized. There's a small pocket in the back big enough for a board book or toy. It's good for 2 years+ in a bed - but if you've got awhile before that age hits, you can also use this as a nursing pillow, or as support for your learning-to-sit up baby in the same way you would a Boppy pillow. I personally like it better than the Boppy because the DreamKuddle is plusher, and obviously is useful for beyond the infant stage.

Use coupon code "mommies" for 15% off. Hurry and order now though - the offer ends in two weeks from the date of this review's post.

30% off grand opening sale at CuteLittleMe.com

Here's a great sale at a cute boutique that just opened: CuteLittleMe.com sells clothes and accessories for infant to toddlers.

They carry some trendy lines I hadn't yet seen before, and the prices are wonderful with the store-wide sale. For example, the Wooly Sheep Coat pictured is made by Shilav - currently $55 and on sale for $38.50.

And check out the 50% off page as well.

Mom and MAMA necklaces on A Planet 4 Creation

The more I stick around this site, the more I appreciate hand-made, customized jewelry. One site that offers hand-made pieces of jewelry, including Mom and MAMA necklaces is A Planet 4 Creation.

Each necklace can be created how you would like - down to which side you'd like to have the necklace clasp on. The MAMA necklace can have birthstones of all your kids birthdays - or if you have only one child, you can do all their birthstones - or a mix of yours and theirs. There are tons of possibilities.

Be sure to also check out their other jewelry options - the breast cancer awareness necklace is great for this month (Breast Cancer Awareness month.) Use coupon code MS15 for 15% off your order. And know that if you purchase in October, 20% of all sales go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

A possible cure for a pet peeve

You know what I hate? I hate it when we're exhausted after a trip and you have to wait and wait and wait for your luggage to come off the conveyor belt. Then, you see your bag... your heart flutters, one of 10 just came out! But, when it gets to you, you realize the name that is written and hidden in the back isn't your name. So now you have to wait again!

Then, I found Polkadachs bag tags. They promise "a tag for every bag" and their tags are so cute, I am considering labeling them all. Not only are the tags adorable, with cute patterns, but you can personalize the message on each one. The tags are sturdy, so they're wonderful for everything from diaper bags, to book bags and even luggage.

People are gifting Polkadachs bag tags for all sorts of occasions. What a clever party gift for your guests at a Sweet 16, or an adornment on a baby gift for her hot diaper bag.

Polkadachs has created a special code for MWS members: Save 20% off your total order. Use the code "mommieswithstyle" (all one word and lower case) through October 31.

I'll be labeling all my bags for our next trip--I can't wait to see the adorable tag on my luggage, which will scream "wahoo! You're bag is here!"

Get organized in your pregnancy with 40 weeks+

I spent my entire pregnancy looking for a decent book to chronicle my pregnancy, and the birth of my son. I came up empty-handed. In fact, it took me several months after the birth of my son to find something I even liked as a baby book. Everything was either, in my opinion: too cheesy or too bulky.

I would have loved to have had 40 weeks + to help me stay organized during my pregnancy. What's so nice about this organizer is that it's no-frills -- not everyone wants cartoon images of babies and bunnies! This organizer is geared towards the modern mom - it's efficient, clean and simple.

While asking all the right questions, it organizes all your information into sections divided by easy-to-use tabs. Each section provides you with spots to put in all the important information -- and it prompts you to stay organized with checklists and to-dos that you may not know to ask or consider.

Even better, it's compact for easy storage in your purse or diaper bag!

Use coupon code "mommieswithstyle" to receive 15% off your order on 40 weeks +. (Retail price is $19.95.)

Free Little Tikes Toy at Toys R Us!

Time to stock up again! Get a free Little Tikes toy when you spend $19.99 or more on Little Tikes toys in the Toys R Us Little Tikes Store. Also, a number of these toys qualify for free shipping as well, so now is a great time to start your holiday shopping! Read full details of the promotion here or check it out in the stores. Offer good until Oct. 22, enter code RTWLTTLETYKT on the checkout page.

A Unique Boutique for Chic Kids!

I recently came across the site Miss Fitz while searching for these adorable Mary Jane socks! My daughter had received a pair when she was born and we absolutely adored them. We received numerous compliments on them! The best news Mommies is that they actually stay on your baby's feet thanks to a bit of spandex in the socks. They also have a fabulous non-skid bottom! The socks come in size 0-12 months with six to a box in either pastel or bright color combo. They make such a unique gift!

While viewing the rest of the site, I found some unique maternity tees that have been featured on "The View" and Us Weekly Magazine. My favorite is the What's Kickin' tee but they have plenty of other clever ones such as Haute Mama and We're Hungry! Most of the sayings come in either tee shirts or long sleeve.

Use coupon code "mommieswithstyle" to save 10% off your order from now through November 30.

You just won't find this at Babies R Us

I'm just in awe of the work that goes into the products sold at Love Plus One. Everything on this online boutique's site is custom hand embroidery. Yes Mommies, that's HAND-made, not machine made. And you can tell - you know that if your child is wearing an item from Love Plus One that her little friend in Gymboree isn't going to show up in the same thing because even if she shows up with the same design - they are all hand-made and therefore unique.

The kids tees are hip and trendy. And if you don't live in Manhattan (where her items are sold in several trendy boutiques), you can view her products on the Love Plus One website. Be sure to check out the "doggie duds" and "men's" section for those of you who have dogs... and men to shop for!

Use coupon code MWS15 for 15% off your online purchase.

Ellington Discount Makes Shopping Easy

I know you're thinking, I really already have enough bags. But, you know, with the holidays coming, who could resist a beautiful, well-made bag? If that's what you're looking for, look no further! Ellington Leather offers a huge variety of bag styles. The Athena Tote, featured here, is one of my many favorites. And if you are thinking holidays, don't forget the men in your life--Ellington has men's bags and acessories as well.

Ellington Leather is offering a 30% discount off their catalog! That’s for ALL items from the catalog. This sale will start on Saturday, October 15th and continue through Monday, October 31st.

To get the 30% discount, just type “bbsave30” in the Discount Code Box at Checkout. The discount (excluding the shipping cost) will be reflected as a subtotal in the final page at check-out. You will be given an exact dollar amount (including shipping) in a confirmation, sent to the email address you indicate when placing your order.

These bags aren’t specifically “mommy bags”, but can certainly serve as diaper bags. Their leather bags are very beautiful. Some bags that may work out as good diaper bags: Stella Tote/Pack Large, the Territory Backpack, the Laurel Tote, and bags from their Lightweight Travel Collection (including the In-Flight Tote).

I have to raise my imaginary glass to Mommies with Style member, Audball. A true (diaper bag addiction) enabler, Audball coordinated this fantastic offer with Ellington and provided most of my post.

Stylish infant shoes from IsaBooties

Robeez just wasn't my thing. Everyone around me seemed to love them, and I just didn't find any that I liked. My son pretty much wore socks only (that he was constantly yanking off) until I found a plain pair of Shoo Shoos that I found acceptable for him to wear.

For those who don't know - before your child is walking, or shortly after they begin to walk, it's recommended that they wear soft-soled shoes only to help the development of their feet and walking.

There are only so many companies in the market of making shoes that fit the bill.

IsaBooties are a nice choice and they have a small selection of adorable patterns for both boys and girls. I wish I had known about them when I needed them! They're more affordable than Robeez at $24 a pair. Free gift wrapping is available.

They're currently running a sitewide special - 10% off all orders and free shipping. The sale ends October 24th.

25% of all shoes at my favorite online store!

Madison & Friends, one of my favorite online stores, is having a 25% off all shoes sale for one week. They carry tons of designer brands like Merrell, Naturino, Primigi, Puma and more. And they have amazing girls clothes too, as well as a fab Denim Lounge, where they have tees and jeans for kids and adults. Calling all Mommies who shop pink!

I just wanted to share my thoughts on this amazing pink faux suede and flower printed patchwork skirt, I recently bought for my daughter Emma. This skirt happens to be my favorite purchase for the Fall. She has received so many compliments on it as it is super adorable. It has an awesome adjustable waist with an elastic back which my daughter really needs! Also, it has pretty corduroy ties that are attached at the back with belt loops.

You can buy the skirt now at Nordstrom.com where they have $5.00 shipping or if you purchase a pair of regular priced shoes from now until October 31st, your entire order ships for free!

Teach sign language with your children's clothes

Regular readers of this blog have no doubt noticed our support towards teaching your infants and toddlers sign language. To date, I've reviewed a lot of DVDs that help teach your child sign language.

Today's review is about a clothing line that helps to teach it. Speak Clothing makes tee shirts that are made of 100% organic cotton, each shirt displaying one ASL sign hand symbol.

These tees are not just great because they teach sign language (which is a definite bonus) but they are just cool-looking in general. The designs are simple and fun.

A percent of all the sales on Speak Clothing's site go to programs to benefit children who are hearing-impaired. Mention "Mommies with Style" for $4 off your tee-order on the order form or when you call in.

Even sweeter... we came across a coupon code! 10% off using the code Crafty at check out.

Really comfy maternity jeans

Since I posted my last pregnancy update on my website, I've had some inquiries about the jeans I'm wearing in the photo. I got them at the Gap early this year but I'm pretty sure they don't carry them anymore. I did a quick check on their website and found that they now have eight pairs of jeans and at least 3 pairs of pants with this waist-style, which they call a "Roll Panel." (They also come in corduroy!)

The Roll Panel is a strip of soft stretchy fabric that you can fold down or pull over your belly, depending on the kind of coverage you need. Lately, I need to pull it up high but I have to admit that they fall down a little because my belly's gotten so big. I've worn these jeans since the very early days of my pregnancy when I had no belly to speak of but when my other jeans were too tight in the waist. They will also be really great to wear once the baby is born. A caveat- they're not exactly cheap (~$64) but you will get a lot of wear out of them.

I have to say that I've been really spoiled by maternity pants. They are so much more comfortable than styles with a waistband that can dig in, even at your normal weight.

Update: Old Navy now sells this style!

Free shipping on purchases of $100 or more at gap.com with coupon code FREE100. Gap credit card customers get free shipping with purchases of $50 or more with coupon code FREESHIP. (It might also work with the Banana Republic and Old Navy cards because they're owned by the same company.)

10% off at Emmy & Ally

I'm such a sucker for these tees with simple, but totally cute and funny sayings.

Online boutique Emmy & Ally offers a number of these tees, including the seasonal appropriate "Lil Pumpkin" and "Ba hum Bug".

And I can never get enough of the "chick magnet" onesie, which incidentally, Britney Spears owns for her new baby. (She also has "stud muffin".)

Britney's not the only one who likes Emmy & Ally products, as Julia Roberts, Soledad O'Brien, Gwyneth Paltrow and Courteney Cox all own the fleece crib sets, plus other products from the store.

Juggling Seals!

just like the circus... well, not quite. But check out this new product: an adorable and soft stuffed seal, that turns inside itself and becomes a soft ball (soft enough for a baby to play with.) Get three and you have a set for juggling. You can find a seal, bear and lion all at Craftsbury Kids.

When we first received these, we thought, this is an adorable newborn gift. But what shocked us was that our 2 year old absolutely loves them. It's such an adventure to play peek-a-boo and open and close the animals. Plus, its one ball that we don't get too angry if he throws in the house.

Craftsbury Kids sells unique, hand-crafted gifts and they're currently offering a discount: save 10% on your purchases by using the code MommiesWithStyle.

And if you're tempted into ordering it today, you can do so with a new coupon from My Little Ducks - for 20% off your purchase on the entire site! Use coupon code MWS20, and do it soon, as the coupon expires October 15, 2005.

Free Shipping at Nordstrom!

Nordstrom.com is currently offering FREE shipping on your entire purchase when you buy any pair of regular priced shoes from their site. They have such an extensive shoe collection for children as well as women. It's one of my favorite sites to shop for shoes for my daughter. They have so many adorable Puma sneakers for kids. I can't decide which one to get!

I browsed through their sale section of the website and found some great deals! They have Classic Short Uggs in a variety of fun colors on sale for 50% off at $59.90. Also, I saw some cute maternity clothes on sale from designers such as Japanese Weekend, Liz Lange and Juicy Couture.

The offer is good until October 31, 2005. There are no coupon codes and the free shipping will automatically be applied when you check out. Happy shopping!

Cute as Buttons: adorable personalized items, $5 off

Cute as Buttons is one boutique that's certainly named appropriately. They carry "distinctive gifts for baby" -- personalized onesies, bibs and more.

Pictured is the layette holiday outfit, which you can have embroidered with your selection of cute designs (candy canes, Christmas tree, more). Yes, the holidays are really coming and this set is great for any babies coming home in December - or for an older baby to relax at home in.

Their items are made of the softest cotton - I wish they made sets in Mommy size. I could certainly appreciate lounging around in items this soft, so you know they're just perfect for a baby.

Some other tidbits, all items come wrapped in signature packaging (a cute box with bow), and you can see Cute as Buttons featured in the October issue of Pregnancy Magazine. As far as celebrities go, Leah Remini of the King of Queens owns several Cute as Buttons items for her daughter; and Debra Messing was gifted with some as well.

Orders are taking via fax, phone or email - mention seeing this review on Mommies with Style and you can receive $5 off the holiday layette set, or 10% off any other orders.

My obsession with personalized items continues...

LIQUID Photo Frames are stunning, classic and sharp. We just hung a frame on my son's wall, and it stands out and finishes the wall with style! (Make sure you find a stud, the frames are made of a heavy, liquid material, then cast-molded.) You can view some of their beautiful work in other kids' rooms here.

The frames are 10 inches by 12 inches, with an opening for a 4 x 6 photo. You select the color (which is so sharp!) and the message: a name, monogram, initials, dates or an adornment. What a stunning gift for a new baby, wedding, Bar Mitzvah, even for employee recognition--you can't go wrong with a LIQUID frame. Even the presentation is high quality: its packaged in a flannel sleeper bag and sturdy gift box for safe storage and a personal touch.

LIQUID also creates personalized wall art which adds an accent to your family room, as well as unique corporate gifts and awards. Recently, their products were featured during the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. (Hey Dads! When Emmit Smith broke a record in 2002, he was presented with a personalized football made by LIQUID.)

Through October 31, LIQUID is offering a Mommies with Style special: 15% off your purchase. Discounts must be phone orders, so check out the site, then call 1.800.477.0443 and mention the code MOMMIESWITHSTYLE.

For something different, check out the classic designs offered on onesies and products at Retrofit Baby.

They offer milk bottle cap designs in both onesies and burp cloths, and they recently debuted soap box designed burp cloths and onesies.

What's so fun about these items is that they are personalized for your baby and family. You can have them personalized with your first or last name -- or both! (ex. "John Smith Baby Soap.")

But this is one of those times where I feel that my review just won't do the product justice - check out the designs on the RetroFit Baby website and see how great these are in person.

Signing Time focuses new product on infants

I've long been a fan of Signing Time, since I used Volumes 1-3 to teach my son sign language. We began using the DVDs when he was 13 months old and he was signing within a month.

Now, Signing Time has created a version for infants - something you can start at 6 months! Baby Signing Time teaches the same basic signs, but it's produced in a way that's more appealing to infants. Some things are the same - kids teaching kids how to sign, as they do on Signing Time. But in the Baby Signing Time version, the kids are often shown with a colorful, simple background, making it more eye-catching and appealing to infant-eyes.

Leah and Alex, the signing guides from regular Signing Time, visit the babies in Baby Signing Time in cute animated versions! Leah's mom Rachel still teaches each word in person.

By the way, if you've seen the movie, Meet the Fockers, "little Jack" is actually portrayed by fans of Signing Time. The toddlers who play little Jack make cameo appearances in Signing Time Volumes 4-6.

You can order Baby Signing Time on Precious Personalities for $49.99 - the best price you're going to find and she's currently offering free shipping.
