I’m constantly amazed at the wealth of choices in beautiful baby gear these days. I feel like an old lady when I comment that, “we didn’t have products like this when I was going through it!” But we truly didn’t.
When my oldest (6) was an infant, the choices were no where near as amazing. Baby products have come a long way.
I recently received a shipment of Kenneth Brown samples, which is what prompted this post and my observation of the state of beautiful baby products that are available to Moms with newborns in 2010. You can buy his designs exclusively at Babies R Us – including baby bedding, wall decals, children’s lamps, mobiles and more. The items are manufactured by Summer Infant.
For more pictures and info, visit Kenneth Brown’s website. Also, Babies R Us currently has free shipping on any purchase over $100.

Many of our little ones are heading back to school this week or next (or for some of you, they may have already gone back… I am jealous!). For those that are going to nursery or day care programs, a morning or afternoon nap may be a part of your child’s day. Well, I recently got to try out an awesome product called the
Hard to believe one week ago I already had my precious little one in my arms. Of course, it wasn’t hard to fall in love instantly. And once we arrived home, we really fell in love with some great baby products… old and new.
I’m nesting. I think we’ve all agreed that that’s happening around here. And one thing un-done at our home was my 3-year-old’s window. He had a shade, but nothing to complete it, make it look nice.
Look, I don’t really need more baby bedding for this one. I have the PBK sailboat bedding that I still adore from 2003 (which has been used for 2 boys). And I have a gorgeous Skip Hop Vine Floral that’s been sitting around the guest room for over a year in case I should ever have a girl. So when a sample of Kenneth Brown’s Monkey Vine bedding arrived recently, I became surprisingly needy of new boy bedding.
A few friends and I were recently discussing baby sleeping habits. My kids were big swaddlers and the huz swaddled them tightly. Really tightly. And they slept great. So, I didn’t “get” the point of a sack. Why not just continue using a swaddle blanket? Two words then occured to me: Kick out. Ahh, now I remember… it only takes a few weeks for even a tiny baby to grow enough to kick out of his swaddling blanket, but sacks (and items like the Baby Bonkie) keep kids in longer with hook & loop closures and bagged legs.

Already prepped to grace my baby’s crib,
There’s really only one thing I don’t like about not “finding out”: You have to settle for a lot of gender neutral stuff if you want to be prepared. And settle I did… for the first 2 kids.

Did you wake up in your own bed this morning? If not, you’re like many of us who end up traveling for the holidays and spending the night on spare beds, couches or floors. Doing this with kids in tow can be even more challenging. Though my youngest is still in a crib and can overnight easily in a pack-n-play, my 2.5 yr old is in a twin bed at home and our travels don’t always take us to somewhere with an extra bed. So I was thrilled to come across the
Jen and I both now have 17 month old sons and have recently starting using blankets in their cribs for both warmth and comfort. We both recently got the chance to try a new line of blankets,
