Smart Snow Gear & Giveaways (Winners Announced)

Congrats to Tammy P. who won our giveaway of L-Bow Gloves. Visit www.onestepahead.com to pick some up for your kids! Thanks to all who entered!

———————————————————————————-

Living on the coast of California, snow is a novelty we drive to as opposed to part of our daily winter life like I know it is for some of you. Still, whether snow is a once-a-season event for you or a oh-my-gosh-not-another-snow-day regular occurence, I think parents are always looking for snow gear that can get more than one season of use out it.

Browsing through the latest One Step Ahead catalog, I came across two pieces of smart snow gear I had to share – the L-Bow Gloves and Cozy Cub Kids’ Adjustable Hem Snow Bibs.

L-Bow Gloves: This is just a brilliant idea. Kids’ gloves inevitable come untucked from the jacket allowing snow to get up the sleeve and down into the glove itself. No more! The the L-Bow Glove offers protection from fingertip to elbow with their unique extra long nylon cuffs.

The durable, reinforced palms will last through a number of seasons of snowball fights, and their Thinsulate™ material ensures warm fingers without excess bulk. The gloves are available in 6 color options and 2 sizes, and if you just don’t want to deal with getting all those fingers into the right slots, there are L-Bow Mittens too!

I don’t know if my kids noticed too much of a difference with these new gloves, but I sure did. I put them on once and only once! No stopping every 5 minutes to readjust, reattach or dump out snow. The gloves kept their hands warm, their clothes dry and could definitely pack a mean snowball. (See below for a giveaway!)

Cozy Cub Kids’ Adjustable Hem Snow Bibs: Another smart idea – adjustable hem convertible snow bib/pants. A mouthful to say, but worth for the years of use you can get out of these! Use them as is and when junior gets a growth spurt, snip the hem to release an extra two inches of leg length. Plus you can convert them to snow pants by zipping off the bib top.

The pants use a triple-layer technology to keep little legs warm and dry.

- A soft, pill-resistant, microfleece and taffeta lining

- A lightweight core of Thermolite® insulation

- A rugged, water-repellent, stain-resistant, nylon shell (so melted snowflakes bead up and roll off, instead of soaking through!)

Reinforced knees and inseam help these pants last through sled run bails and snow angel making, and the silky inner lining makes getting the pants on and off a breeze (a must-have for those “I need to go NOW!” moments). My favorite features are the microfleece lining on the rear (no more cold bottoms!) and the reflective piping (evening snow walk? No worries!).

* GIVEAWAY * One Step Ahead is giving away a pair of L-Bow Gloves to one lucky MWS reader! To enter, tell us your favorite thing to do in the snow with your kids. US residents only. PO Boxes okay. Entries must be received by December 12th at 11:59pm PST. One winner will be selected by random.org and notified via email.

Visit OneStepAhead.com for this snow gear and other innovative children’s products.

Little Seed Organic Children’s Clothes

I am quickly learning that comfort is key most days when dressing my son. Of course we all need those “nicer” outfits, but let’s face it, they aren’t always made for all the moving around our little ones do. The Little Seed line of clothing brings you comfort and style with their eco-friendly line of children’s clothes.

Founded by Paige Goldberg Tolmach and Soleil Moon Frye, The Little Seed is now one of the leading lifestyle brands for eco-friendly and organic products for children. The Little Seed launched it’s own line of brightly colored, incredibly soft, low-impact clothing for infants and children-coined Green in Every Color; it’s all manufactured here in the USA.

With products ranging from onesies to blankets…hoodies to dresses and with sizes from 0 months to 8 years, The Little Seed can bring your child of any age the softest clothes in a variety of colors.

The Little Seed Promise says it all!

We believe that our planet’s future is our children’s future. By employing the lowest carbon footprint methods to manufacture our product we stand by that belief. Our garments are produced with low-impact dyes on raw/organic cotton, 100% made in the USA with love and care for the healthiest lifestyle possible for our families and yours… Because a little eco goes a long way!

What is not to like about these clothes? I think one of my favorite things is the choice of color. There is so much “drab” and “blah” out there in the world of children’s clothes, and The Little Seed allows you to bring a little fun into your child’s wardrobe.

With The Little Seen you can feel good about buying clothes for you child that not only feel good on them, but feels good for you to buy them!

I was provided with an outfit from The Little Seed for the purposes of this review. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Olive Juice: Kids Clothes With A Cause

I am not sure about you, but I love buying clothes for my son. I truly enjoy getting him dressed in the morning, although I am sure he wouldn’t agree! The problem is that he grows out of his clothes so fast, that sometimes I feel bad about all the clothes I buy. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that buying your child’s clothes could actually be doing a GOOD thing? Well, if you buy Olive Juice kid’s clothes than you will be!

Olive Juice, a maker of classic and European inspired childrenswear, is providing hope for kids in need through a new partnership with Clothes4Souls, the apparel division of one of the fastest growing charities in the world, Soles4Souls. In a “buy one, give one effort, Olive Juice will provide one item of clothing for every item purchased through the special microsite www.olivejuicegives.com. These donated items will then go to a child in need with the help of Clothes4Souls. Now if that doesn’t make shopping for your kids a feel good experience I don’t know what does!?

Olive Juice was founded in 2003 by Maryellen Kane based on the belief that parents should have the opportunity to choose from a quality brand of clothing for their children at a reasonable price. The clothes are casual, comfortable and fun. I found it interesting that they even had some unisex items.

My son has this playtime hoodie ($32.50) and it is so soft! I look forward to having him wear this in the fall.

With a few clicks of the mouse you are able to get your child some great looking clothes AND help children in need! If you ever needed an excuse to shop you have one now.

I was provided with clothes from Olive Juice for the purposes of this review. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow! What a Day! Short #StyleSchool Recap & Thanks

So I’m still reeling from my amazing event with Colleen from ClassyMommy.  Our back to school event, Style School, was a huge success!  I’m sure I will be bringing more photos and specific posts this week but I wanted to share some photos from the amazing day.

Here I am with Colleen at the start of the event at our Style School with 77Kids Step & Repeat:

Truly, 77Kids just rocked it with their punk booth.  They were giving mohawks to the kids (and adults!), treats & goodies and the vibe was all hard core rock, punk and fun, as their clothes are for back to school and the fall.  With Colleen in front of their amazing booth:

We had some other amazing sponsors – here’s a list of who helped make Style School happen and a big thank you to each and every one of them!

Motts was samping their new Snack N Go Applesauce packs.  Apparently they are amazing – I wouldn’t know because my kids ate them all on the car ride home before I could try them!  I’m definitely going to have to go buy some more and save some for myself.  A lot of the Moms were saying they liked them for THEM (forget the kids!)

Another popular booth was Remington, who was there doing different hair styles for the Moms and kids using some of their products including the new Wrap to Waves.  Check out how amazing my 14-year-old niece looks in this photo after she had her hair done.

I’ll share more later for sure but for now I have to play with my kids and recover!  Thanks again to everyone who came out and made it such a great event!  Here’s to Style School 2012!

Fashion Friday: Back-to-School with @77Kids #StyleSchool

By the time you are seeing this review, I’ll be 24-hours away from a great Back to School event I’m hosting in Manhattan with Colleen from Classy Mommy and our media company, ForMomsMedia.  200+ Mom Bloggers will descend on New York to see the latest and greatest from some great brand names on products they are showcasing for back to school. {Click for information on our Style School event in New York City on August 20th}

Our title sponsor, 77Kids by American Eagle, will be punking it up with mohawks and fun hair-styles for the Moms and kids and showing us their latest clothing lines.

My boys will be wearing 77Kids clothes along with several other “models.”  We took a fun trip to our local 77Kids to try on some of the new trends for the fall and back to school.  Check it out.

My boys (and Girlymama.com's daughter) rock out to the in-store music

My nephew Sully plays the guitar while waiting as his sister tries on clothes (see! Tons to do in store for the kids! They don't want to leave!)

Love the outfit my niece chose!

And check out your nearest 77Kids or visit 77Kids.com to get some great new school clothes for your kids too.  (Free shipping!  All the time!)

The best hair accessories for girls: No Slippy Hair Clippy!

When I first found out that I was having a little girl after having two sons, one of the things I was most excited about was dressing up my daughter in adorable outfits with matching hairbands and bows. I have heard my friends with daughters mention that they like No Slippy Hair Clippy hair accessories before, but I had never had any personal experience with them and wanted to give them a try myself.

These gorgeous hair accessories are not only beautiful and well-made, but they are super comfortable for babies and kids of all ages because they are fully lined in velvet. They have an “easy-on” pinch clip style and they won’t snag, pull, or break hair, something that I am concerned about with a newborn baby girl. They are made with kid-safe, non-toxic glue, which is also super-important.

Some of the accessories that I look forward to trying soon with my little girl include:

-  The adorable Cory headband, which comes in various sizes from newborns through big girls

- Clipettes, which are modern grosgrain ribbon prints and bows. This value-priced line also has an easy-on pinch clip style, are fully lined and have an added non-slip grip for a soft yet secure hold.

- Various baby bows, which are incredibly soft and promise to stay in my daughters hair (even if she doesn’t have much… which, according to my level of heartburn, she should have a ton!). I love the beautiful Abby bow and the sweet Tilly Butterfly bow and can’t wait to try them out!

No Slippy Hair Clippy also makes a line of hair accessories for older girls, teens, and women, which are equally beautiful, functional, and stylish.  I have a feeling I am going to be using a lot of these hair accessories from now on!

Also, stay tuned for another post after I have my baby about my experience with No Slippy Hair Clippy!

20% off & Free Shipping at LandsEnd.com

This morning at the bus stop, I was complaining to my neighbor about how I couldn’t find any decent-looking or priced rash guards for Nate, who wears a size 8 now.  All my normal haunts stopped after a 5T.  She suggested LandsEnd.com (duh!) so I came home and was happy to find exactly what I was looking for.  (Thanks Cindy!)

I ordered several rash guards for both of my boys.  Even better, I was able to use the following promotion to get 20% off and free shipping:

Promotional code:  QUALITY, Pin: 1207 to receive 20% off and free shipping at LandsEnd.com.  Expires May 31st.

Never lose a thing again with Name Bubbles

For years now I have been labeling my kids clothes and belongings (cups, hats, shoes, etc) with either permanent marker, or what I like to call “boring” labels (simple white labels that I need to iron or stick on that have their name on them).

Recently I was super excited to come across Name Bubbles, an incredible, durable product to easily label anything your kids use and lose. The labels are not only diswasher, laundry, and microwave safe, but they are colorful and cute and actually enhance the look of your belongings! They have a simple press-and-stick application, so there is no ironing and no mess!

I got to try their camp pack for each of my boys, which is perfect for the upcoming camp season. The camp pack includes 109 labels in a variety of styles and colors, and all of the labels resist sunscreen and bug spray. I can easily label my boys clothing with the Bubble Itz, adorable and colorful circular labels that stick on to clothing tags or directly on the clothes. Bubble Toes are great for making sure my kids water shoes and sneakers come home with them each day. And the variety of sizes of other labels are perfect for backpacks, lunch boxes, and other gear.

The best two things about Name Bubbles that set them apart from other similar types of companies is their variety of great looking and colorful styles to choose from, as well as the opportunity to put your phone number or address on some of the smaller clothing labels. When I use the Name Bubbles on my kids clothes, I actually feel like I am enhancing their clothes instead of marking them up with something ugly or something hard-to-read.

You can also use Name Bubbles to alert others of allergy or medical needs, on your luggage instead of a traditional luggage tag, and on your baby bottles and sippy cups (check out the adorable designs!)

Now is the perfect time to stock up on these fun and super-functional labels which you will find yourself using all of the time… from sports to school to camp and everything in between! Place an order of $50 or more and receive free shipping! No code necessary.

I received complementary samples for this review from Name Bubbles, however, as always, all opinions are my own.

More Than a Store: 77Kids

Friday morning, I met up with my good friend Colleen and her kids to tour the brand new 77Kids store in King of Prussia Mall here outside of Philadelphia.  (You may remember that I was a part of 77Kids national Do Go Day last summer)  Owned by American Eagle, 77Kids is a new store and line for your children.  Their clothes are edgy and hip.

I can say this as a Mom of boys – boys clothes are tough to shop for.  I long ago stopped staring wistfully at the racks of cute girl clothes. And the variety!  You Moms of girls have it made.  But boy clothes can be tough.  I see the same themes over and over again.  And while I’m a pretty laid back Mom when it comes to my boys clothes, and they certainly don’t care what I put them in, I still get excited when I see a great line of clothes for boys.

I had that excitement when I entered 77Kids.  Adorable styles for boys (hooray!) and of course great clothes for girls too.

On top of that, the shopping experience is interactive.  Every time you visit 77Kids with your child, your child will get to pick out a prize.

They can see how they look with the different outfits via a touch-screen interactive experience.  Here’s Colleen’s daughter playing:

If you’re lucky enough to have a 77Kids near you, be sure to check out the store – the in-store experience is beyond that of your usual children’s clothing store.  And if you don’t have a store near you, you can always shop online at 77kids.com.

Bambeeno Cashmere: Cashmere Clothes For Kids!

When it comes to kids clothes I am all about the sale. Especially when it comes to every day items, but sometimes, just like adult clothes, it is nice to have a few classic, well made pieces that can grow with your child, and last. What better material is there for that than cashmere? I know I loved to be wrapped in it, so why wouldn’t your child? Bambeeno Cashmere is composed of timeless cashmere and knitwear essentials to keep your little one dressed in style and sophistication.

Bambeeno Cashmere is an Atlanta based company that produces luxury cashmere knitwear items for children ages newborn – 12 years of age.  Made with some of the softest cashmere on the market , children will feel as good as they look.  Items range from crewneck tees and polos for boys, to pretty cardigans and dresses for girls, and even newborn sets and cashmere accessories for baby. In addition to the pure cashmere line,  Bambeeno Cashmere also offers an array of cotton/ cashmere knitwear containing beautiful layette pieces for the season. This is the type of piece that I tried. I have a navy blue cotton/cashmere sweater, which is 90% cotton and 10% cashmere. The sweater is so soft! It will be perfect for spring, or those cool summer nights.  My little guy is going to be stylin!

The only downfall I see is that these items need to be hand washed. Although I am new to the mommy thing, I have already come to learn that “easy” is key. Therefore, hand washing can be a bit of a chore. But I plan to use the sweater when a “nice” outfit is needed, which isn’t all the time, and so I think it will be fine.

Overall the Bambeeno Cashmere sweater is a well made piece, and I am excited for my guy to wear it. Don’t we all need a little luxury in our lives when it comes to our clothes? Why not pass on that same luxury to our kids??

I was provided with a Bambeeno Cashmere sweater for the purposes of this review. As always, all opinions are my own.

My 3 year old daughter is rocking the Dark Pink/Navy Striped Open Back Dress ($14.99). This fun dress has a open back with three tiers of ruffles underneath (in a diagonal thinner striped pattern). The price is terrific and she looked great. We paired it with matching pink tights and black pediped Giselle Mary Janes. You can still find it in certain stores, but it’s sold out online. The little boys’ clothes were scrumptious too!Lots of cute stripes (narrow and wide). We checked out White Raglan Crew Tee ($12.99), which is sold only in stores. I love the navy raglan sleeves and the cute kelly green band on the neck and hem. We loved the Long-Sleeve Full Front Zip Hoodie ($17.99) which matched it – complete with thin blue and white stripes and green and navy accents. Finishing the outfit are matching navy Knit Pant with Porkchop Pocket ($12.99, stores only). For a little more of a dressy look for my little guy, we liked the Grey Long Sleeve Striped 2fer Polo ($12.99). Shop with Zulily

Image and video hosting by TinyPicAs a busy mom of 3 (including an infant), I do most of my shopping online. I’m always looking for a bargain and LOVE those members only daily deal sites — and one of my favorite ones is zulily.

If you don’t know what zulily is, it gives parents daily deals on unique and hot brands at up to 70% off retail prices.  I’ve already bought a lot of things for my kids, myself and as gifts on the site.

So when I was invited to meet the staff at an event in NYC last month, I had to go! I spoke to President and CEO Darrell Cavens, who used to be an executive for Blue Nile.  I was very impressed when he told me he wouldn’t put anything on zulily that he wouldn’t buy for his own family. He co-founded zulily to introduce parents to high quality boutique brands at significant discounts.

Diapers.com: Beyond Baby Care & a #Giveaway for $200 Gift Certificate

My youngest child has been out of diapers for over a year now so buying diapers and shopping somewhere like Diapers.com has not been on my radar. Until recently, when I received a note about participating in a campaign for Diapers.com to purchase and use the site for more than diapers.

More than diapers at Diapers.com?  I was curious to see how the site had grown since my last child potty trained and was pleasantly surprised at how much their offering had expanded since the last time I ordered.

I placed a big order for several products, none of which was diapers!  I got toys for my kids for Christmas, clothes and skin care products for my kids.  In searching for various products, I was able to find everything I was looking for.  Check out the array of Legos they offer!  (My kids are so into Legos right now, I was impressed with their selection.)

I also ordered this adorable Tea Collection Lion Double Decker Tee.  Then I was out of hand soap so I hopped over to body care and ordered several bottles of Burts Beeds Hand Soap.  Bottom line being that their offering has moved beyond diapers and their prices are competitive.  (Free shipping over $49!)

Just to give you an example the vast assortment of products you can buy for your family’s needs, check out this random assortment of products you can buy on Diapers.com:

Bravado Designs Nursing Tank - $49

Fisher Price IxL Learning System - $89.99

Basq Cucumber Tea Eye Gel - $24

3-pack of EPT Pregnancy Stick Tests - $13.99

Lego City Seaplane - $9.49

Shipping is free when your order is over $49 and no joke, my order came in a day and a half. They promise 1-2 day shipping and I placed my order late one night. It came not the next day but early the following morning; roughly 36 hours.

Giveaway: One lucky reader from Mommies with Style will win a $200 gift certificate to Diapers.com!  Comment below to enter.

This giveaway ends after Sunday, December 12th – one winner will be selected at random after that time.

Disclosure:  I was given compensated and given a credit to spend at Diapers.com to facilitate this post.

A Very Disney Store Halloween; Coupon Code for Free Shipping

Image and video hosting by TinyPicAs Halloween’s almost here, we’ve almost got our costumes set. My 5 year old son is going to be Buzz Lightyear and my almost 3 year old daughter is most likely going to go as Jessie — since they are both big Toy Story Fans! The Disney Store graciously sent us a Jessie Costume($39) and she loves it. While it’s sold out on the Disney Store website, you may be able to find it in stores still (we found it online at a few places). We love the cute fringes on her shirt and Jessie’s famous red hat. It features a jeweled cameo, gold fringe and yellow sequined yoke and cuffs on a satin button-down shirt. We love the cute cowhide print chaps and gold fringe on sparkling denim pants.  She’ll pair the costume with cute brown cowboy boots we found at Target.
If you are still looking for a Disney costume for your children, there are still lots of great choices. We like their beautiful princess costumes like Rapunzel ($49.50), from the soon-to-be released Disney movie Tangled. While it’s a little pricey, your little girl can use this to play dress up in. The bodice features sparkling glitter and lace-up ribbon. Glittering images from the film trim the skirt and the dress coordinates with the Tangled Rapunzel Wand, Shoes and Hair Piece ( sold separately). For toddlers, I like the Nemo costume (on sale for $13.99).

Coupon Code: From now until October 26, you can get free shipping on any Disney Store Authentic Parks merchandise with code: CASTLE.

Thank you to the Disney Store for sending the Jessie Costume.
