Fashion Friday: Colorful Jewelry

Recently, I had to research a style piece for jewelry trends for the spring and summer. The overwhelming consensus with those “in the know” with fashion trends was that colored or colorful jewelry (and bold) is going to be the trend in the coming months.

Why not get a jump start on the spring with some of these colorful pieces of jewelry? If nothing else, the color will give you a little bright fun during an otherwise snowy or rainy day.

All my life, I’ve worn silver jewelry. I remember actually disliking gold jewelry when I was in high school and then in college and beyond, I never considered accessorizing with gold.

But a couple of years ago (with some Mommies with Style influence), I started wearing gold. I’ve been slowing building up my collection of gold jewelry and I find I go to it more than silver these days.

Stella & Dot Fundraiser for The Vogel Family of Get Well Gabby

You guys may have seen me posting here or on Facebook about Gabby Vogel, a local girl sick with cancer. Sadly, she lost her battle and life on 9-11. The story is horribly tragic and there are just no words to explain why something like this has to happen or words of comfort that seem to make sense to say to her parents.

Her family has incurred a ton of medical bills and there are many fundraisers coming up to help support the family. One I wanted to post about is with our very own Jen Thomas, who used to write her on Mommies with Style. She is a Stella & Dot rep and is having an online fundraiser for the Vogel family. 20% of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the family.

Fashion Friday: Football Chic

A couple of years ago, I started doing Fantasy Football with my husband and some good friends. Already an Eagles fan, being a part of a Fantasy League has only served to make football something even more exciting for our family each fall. There’s just something to be said for an afternoon on the couch screaming at the tv, eating fattening food, drinking some beer and letting the kids run around with their friends on Sunday afternoons.

So this week, I’m going Football Chic. Most Sundays in the fall consist of a Philadelphia Eagles jersey and jeans but I often find cute Eagles tees at local stores. So without further ado (and I apologize in advance for the Philly-heavy features), scream, shot and still look cute with these ideas for Football Chic:

Fashion Friday: My New Favorite Jewelry — Magnabilities

One of the many things I love about the beach is the shopping. Where we go on Long Beach Island (in New Jersey), there’s a plethora of adorable boutiques and stores that I look forward to shopping each year. It’s at several of these stores that I get half of my fall wardrobe. I just love that the things I bring home from these independently owned boutiques won’t be something everyone else on my block is wearing.

My latest find this past trip was a necklace from Magnabilities. For the indecisive woman in me, this jewelry piece is perfect.

You see, you chance up your look with Magnabilities. You purchase one pendant and then you purchase your magnetic inserts to fit into the pendant. These round discs are magnets that latch onto the necklace. Each insert is $5 so it makes it super-affordable to mix and match different looks depending on your style that day!

I was pleased to see that Amazon carries them. You need to purchase a necklace (around $7 on Amazon), the pendant ($20 on Amazon) and then as many inserts as you want. ($5 each) This is a great gift too! I’ve already received many compliments on mine.

#31days of Pink: Days 9 & 10

Saturday I wore a pair of earrings that I ordered from Bridie’s Baubles. A friend from my son’s preschool owns this cute online boutique that’s primarily an online boutique for brides, but there’s plenty that can be found here too for Moms!

Fashion Fridays – Vintage Details

Vintage is hot this fall. And so easy to add in to your wardrobe with fun little details like faux fur, statement jewelry, lace, a-line dresses and chunky knits. It’s a great way to customize a one of a kind look. The way you combine and mix the vintage pieces in with your wardrobe can make a great and unique statement. Here are a few fabulous pieces to throw in some vintage flair to your wardrobe.

These Michael Kors “Parker” Faux Fur Clog Booties are adorable. Clog bottoms, gold studded footbed and a faux fur cuff. This boot combines classic styling with more than one fall trend – booties and faux fur. They retail for $198 at Bloomingdales.
