Have you guys ever made your own homemade hummus? It’s actually very easy – I had no idea! With Memorial Day weekend coming up and a whole slew of other summer activities, this seems like a super-easy one to whip together on the go to bring to a party or just for a snack at your own house.
- 15-ounce can of Chickpeas
- 2 tsp Greek EVOO
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- dash of salt
- optional cumin
- Mash chickpeas lightly in a bowl with a fork. Mix in teaspoons Greek extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt to taste.
- If desired, add ¼ teaspoon ground cumin. Mash all ingredients together thoroughly or, if a smoother spread is desired, use a food processor to blend the ingredients.
- Enjoy with pita chips or raw veggies! Recipe makes 2 servings
