Not even kidding you guys, I have the theme song to Super Mario Brothers playing in my head as I type this review. My kids downloaded the new Super Mario Brothers 2 onto their shared Nintendo 3DS and stayed up late playing the new game which is just as exciting and fun as the original. Tons of gold coins (over a million) are available in this game – it’s crazy fun!
If you’re a Mario and Luigi fan and you or your kid have a 3DS, Super Mario Brothers 2 is a must-have for the holiday season. And I must have been living under a rock because there’s actually two ways to get this game – did you guys know this?
You can purchase the actual physical game in-store or online (like on Amazon, Super Mario Bros. 2, $39.99 with free shipping) OR you can visit the Nintendo eShop on your 3DS, pay for it and download it right to your system!
This is what we did and it’s the first time we’ve done it – love it. I was recently taking to a friend about how the face of gaming for kids has really changed since we all got smart phones and iPads and that our kids’ DS games often go missing because they are so small. I am ALL ABOUT doing the DS download with our 3DS for a game these days – no game chip to lose because it’s right on your machine! Obviously you have only so much space on your DS available for downloads but this is a great option for your favorite games.
To find Super Mario Bros 2 this way: From the HOME MENU on the Nintendo 3DS sytem, select the Nintendo eShop icon and search for the game!
Note that the Nintendo eShop is only available on the 3DS. Another reason to love the 3DS though! You can also stream Netflix and Hulu. Read more about Nintendo’s eShop here.
