Thong thong thong thong thong

Ciaran did a review of these thongs from Smart Ass Gals for the Holiday Season in 2006. I thought they were so funny and we had such a great response from the review that I didn't forget about them for this year's season.

A great stocking stuffer, for under the tree or for that friend with a sense of humor, these signature collection undies from Smart Ass Gals are sure to get a laugh.

My favorites are, "yummy mummy," "high maintenance," "control freak" and "trophy wife."

There's also "something blue" for that friend who is getting married, or "bun in the oven" for all you preggo types.

These boots were made for walking

You can not go wrong with a pair of sassy boots for the stylish Mom.

I reviewed this pair of Ecco Bristol brown boots in October and I'm already wearing them out from frequent usage.

I get compliments on these all over the place. Plus, they're so comfy.

Tees with a little personality

We see a lot of cute sayings on tees for kids and maternity shirts here, but it's not as often we find great plain old Mom tees. Darling Mummy sells a great line of short and long sleeve t-shirts, all with a bit of sass adorning them.

"Santas Little Helper" is of course a great one for the holiday season. And who couldn't use a little "Mommy Juice" at the end of the day? And "I'm too sexy for my minivan" is a classic.

Dads, get a smile out of your wife and get her a couple tees from this site for the season!

Birthstone necklace from Red Envelope

For my first Mother's Day, my husband got me a single birthstone necklace. The birthstone was of course the stone for the month my oldest son was born in. I still love that necklace and I loved when I could tell people the reason I had a blue topaz necklace.

Red Envelope is selling one this season with an elegant, simple design and you can select up to four pendants for up to four birth months. The prices aren't as bad as you'd think either - my boys November/December birthstone combo is $125.

Check it out on Red Envelope today.

A confident purchase

You can't go wrong with a wrap. I don't know of any woman who doesn't have some kind of wrap in her closet.

And there are so many opportunities to wear them - casual, dressy, winter or summer... it warms you up or accessorizes.

Find her style and pick a color based on that (black for anyone; stripes for the Funky Mama). Use coupon code MWS for 10% off your order at the Pashmina Store. There's free shipping on all orders.

Amazon's Kindle Device: saving space

Any Mom loves an item that will save her space in her house! Amazon's new revolutionary reading and wireless device, the Kindle, does just this. It's a reading device that allows you to download books and magazines to it for a small fee (less than you would pay for a Paperback in the store)

It uses technology similar to a cell phone, so you can connect and download wherever you are (no "wireless internet" fees when you aren't within your own network.)

I have to say, I love reading books. I love creasing the spines, holding the book in hand. But I have to admit that this sort of thing is probably the wave of the future. And the appeal of no longer having piles of books over my house is enough to make me very intrigued with this product.

So this is it - for the gadget-friendly Mom who loves to read, check out the Kindle on Amazon. It sells for $399.99 (free shipping)

Liven up the party with a beverage fountain

So one of my friends owns this product, and I recently borrowed it for a party. It was a party at noon, so we filled the fountatin with Mimosas. I can't tell you all what a hit it was - it lightened the mood (well I'm sure it was a combination of the ambiance the fountain brought, in addition to the champagne in the Mimosas) and was generally just cool to watch.

I'm hoping Santa brings me one for Christmas (hint hint hubby) and if not, I'll be getting one anyway because this thing is a blast at all kinds of parties. I read some of the comments and you can do all sorts or things with it - one woman put fresh squeezed lemonaded in it and floated slices of limes in the bottom part. How fun! The fountain lights up, adding a little charm to the whole thing. It's a great centerpiece as well - who needs flowers?

Buy it on Amazon for $50.99.

These reviews and picks were written by Whitney.

Whitney loves the holiday season and everything that comes with it: spiced wine, pumpkin pie, giving gifts to loved ones, decorating the tree and shopping for her boys.

Some of Whitney's favorite Christmas gifts she's received in her lifetime include: a Cabbage Patch Doll, Puttin' on the Ritz on record, a Swatch Watch and numerous Atari games (Pitfall, anyone?).

This year, Whitney hopes Santa will bring her 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
