Girlz in the Hood
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Little Red was very cute in her Riding Hood. I mean, it was her signature fashion piece after all. But I have to say, her outfit had nothing on these Skipping Hippo hooded ponchos. They are in a word (okay, two) absolutely fabulous!
I received one for my daughter the other day and when she saw it, I swear, she actually squealed. And gave it a kiss. Now my daughter's squealing-and-kissing benchmark isn't terribly high (she did the same thing with the box of lemon Jell-O I agreed to let her put in the grocery cart yesterday), but the poncho is most definitely squeal-worthy by anyone's standards.
Handmade with adorable details like rick rack, little pom-pom balls and a tassel on the hood, these ponchos are available in lots of great color combos. The pinks and browns are my all-time faves, but I keep finding myself drawn to the crimson-colored Skylar with the multi-colored flowers too. Truth be told, they're all pretty fantastic.
Find your favorite style on Skipping Hippos and snag it for 20% off with the code janeandaddie. Check them out. And I promise, whether you're heading over the river, through the woods, to Grandmother's house ... or even just to the mall, your little darling will look like a million bucks (just stay clear of those big, bad wolves).
Reviewer's Note: Ponchos are available in sizes six months to 4T. I would suggest ordering the biggest size possible, to get the most wear. My three-year-old is tiny (less that 25 pounds) and was just fine in the 4T. Hand washing is suggested for the most longevity, but ponchos can also be machine washed in a lingerie bag on delicate.
