Shopping for the holidays is always stressful for me, since I strive to find the most perfect and unique gift that my recipient will just love! I recently began my search for one of my tougher subjects, my 12 year old niece. I came across something that I had never seen before called Creative Cosmetics.

This kit mixes the beautiful side of biology and chemistry with this unique collection of experiments. Girls will learn how to care for their skin, hair and nails so that they are healthy and radiant. Your daughter can start by building a foundation in basic dermatology and then learn about the chemistry of oils, gels and lotions. Then, she can mix her own personalized beauty formulas from the cosmetic bases in the kit. She will then learn how to apply her creations to her body, face, lips, nails and eyes. Also, she will learn about hygiene and safety associated with proper skin care.

The set includes seventeen different cosmetic base substances to make personalized makeup, lip gloss, body lotion, face cream and shower gel. The 48-page book will guide her through the science and history of cosmetics and will give her dozens of beauty recipes and techniques.
