Debbie's Top 10 for 2007

toppicks2007-debbie.jpg

It’s been quite a year for me, with the addition to my family and having survived his Bris! Thanks to all of the fabulous and unique products I have learned about, it’s been made much easier and hipper the second time around! Below are my top ten picks for 2007 in no particular order:

kaboost3.JPGKABOOST
I haven’t stopped talking about this one since I reviewed it, and friends who have seen it haven’t stopped asking about it either! Your child can sit just like Mom, Dad or an older sibling! This innovative booster will make your child feel just like everyone else at the table and keep your kitchen chair looking like your child was never there! The KABOOST is a boost for chairs that elevates your child to the height of the table. It is lightweight and folds compactly making it ideal for travel. It’s recommended for children aged 20 months to 6 years old and is extremely sturdy, as it can hold up to 300 pounds! The code from my August review is no longer valid, but you can find it online or at Babies R Us stores at a lower price.

wipescase.gifMade by Angie Wipes Case
I’ve never personally reviewed this item but other reviewers have again and again on our site and I just love this product. I didn’t start using mine until this year with the birth of my son. But I can’t go anywhere without my Made by Angie Wipes Case! I continuously get compliments on it! You can choose from many different gorgeous, fun, hip fabrics! For those of you that don’t own one, you deserve a treat! Save 20% off of your purchase by using code MWS20 until January 15th, 2008. After that you can use code MWS10 to save 10% off of your order.

Grabby.jpgGrabby the Elephant
I included Grabby the Elephant in my Holiday Gift Picks for Babies 0-12 months because it is my son’s favorite soft toy. He has been teething for months now, and this toy was especially designed for this. He adores playing with it for long periods of time and loves chewing on the tags and pulling the wiggle mouse out of the elephant’s belly again and again.

dress.jpg6WayDress
I reviewed this one back in May a few weeks before my son was born and all I can say is WOW! I was so impressed with this 6WayDress! It is the most versatile little black maternity dress ever! Pregnant Mommies - this is the one dress you’ve been waiting for. Something so unique and cleverly designed to skim, not cling to the body, so it complements your changing shape. The dress can be worn more than six ways, including as a skirt, strapless, baby doll, one shoulder, halter neck and cap sleeve! It is gorgeous!

Splash1.JPGSplash
A big hit when my son was born was the Splash! It was the conservation piece when friends came to visit. This bottle drying rack is not an ordinary one. The Splash is a hip, modern bottle drying rack that features a space-saving circular design to keep all of your baby’s accessories organized. It holds up to nine bottles on the taller prongs and has a unique shelf that has shorter prongs that are perfect for holding nipples, caps, straws, valves and other small items. Read my review here.

itzbeen2.JPGItzbeen
I reviewed the Itzbeen after my son was born and also included it in my Holiday Picks for Babies 0-12. When you’re a new parent, sleep deprivation can turn remembering anything into a constant struggle - when was the last time you fed your baby, how long has he been asleep for and when was the last time you changed his diaper? The Itzbeen Baby Care Timer is an amazing multi-purpose tool that helps you remember the basic details of baby care. It has four timers that count up with the touch of a button so you will always know how long it’s been! There is a changing, feeding, sleep/wake and even a miscellaneous one-touch timer that you can use for just about anything such as medication. It has a host of other cool features as well. “Itzbeen” a life saver for me!

DaRimi.jpgDaRimi Kidz
I reviewed this hip line of sun-protective swimwear in the dead of winter this year and here I am recommending it at the start of the new year! You can never be too protective of your child’s skin when it comes to sun protection. Our family loves being outside in the summer, but I am careful to ensure that my daughter is well protected from the harmful rays of the sun. We do it in style with the Sun Busters line of sun-protective swimwear from DaRimi Kidz. Research recently released suggests that sunscreens are no guarantee against skin cancer and leading researchers recommend that babies and children wear protective clothes and products. Research shows a strong link between sunburn in children and the increased risk of skin cancer in later life-unprotected exposure to the sun in the first 15 years of life more than doubles the chance of getting skin cancer. Teach you children the ABC’s for fun in the sun.
A = AWAY. Stay away from the sun in the middle of the day.
B = BLOCK. Use SPF15 or higher sunscreen.
C = COVER UP. Wear a T-shirt and a hat.
S = SPEAK OUT. Talk to family and friends about sun protection.

Sasha.jpgSasha's Sun Covers
I couldn’t have been more excited about this product since when my son was born it soon became summer and I searched high and low to find a sun shade to expand the coverage of the tiny shade that came with the infant carrier. Sasha’s Sun Covers protect a baby's/child's delicate eyes, skin and body from the harmful effects of the sun's heat, glare, cancer causing ultraviolet UVA/UVB rays, wind, dust, debris, and flying insects. They are water resistant and flame retardant. They are unique in that they protect, yet still allow parents to see in and children to see out at all times. They fit all types of infant carriers (Graco, Peg Perego, Evenflo, Baby Trend, etc) and are simple and easy to use. Read Jen’s review here.

joyababybestseller.jpgJoyababy Diaper Clutch
I reviewed this one back in February and knew it would be a hit! I love everything about this hip diaper clutch and never leave home without it! It’s compact, holds wipes and 2-3 diapers, has a generous sized changing mat with elastic holders in the clutch and is available in some beautiful fabrics that are covered with waterproof vinyl or nylon which makes for easy clean up! The code in my review is no longer valid but you can save 10% off of your order now through January 15, 2008, by entering code MWS10off at checkout. There are also select print clutches that are currently on sale for 20% off at Joyababy.

BumpyName Orbit Labels
Jen reviewed these last year and Julie this year, and I have to say that I see why they both recommended them! We have been using these since Jen reviewed them and they are amazing! They are rubber labels (like a thick rubber band but much better) that have a non-slip grip that has your child’s name inscribed as well as in Braille. They are reusable and transferable, and they really stand out... so it is easy for you or your child to know which cup is theirs when on a playdate! What a fabulous product - I can’t say enough about it!

Runner Ups:
Pediped - Specifically the Andrew Chocolate Brown Boot
Given my shoe obsession, these are my favorite soft-soled shoes. They’ve been reviewed before, but I had never tried them on my kids! I must say I get a ton of compliments on the Andrew Boot that my son has been wearing since the cold weather started. They keep my son’s piggies so warm and are just adorable! Use coupon code mws07 for free shipping on your order.

eeBoo GamesPaper Doll Game & Tea Party Game
My daughter received the Tea Party Game at the end of last year (it was my first review in 2007) and the Paper Doll Game at the end of this year. They are, by far, her favorite games and are so adorable! Even my niece, who is 13, enjoyed playing the Paper Doll Game where you can have up to five players and all of the pieces are stored in a small laundry bag!

Tiny Tags Necklace – This necklace is my favorite piece of jewelry. I love wearing my kid’s names close to my heart! This handmade necklace is so hip and classy looking and I get a ton of compliments on this special piece. Here is my review from May.

Magnetic Dress-Up Dolls
A Holiday Pick for Girls 2-5, this tin keeps my daughter busy for long periods of time! She loves arranging and rearranging the magnetic dolls and their accessories. The tin is great for on-the-go travel and we always bring it to restaurants!
