I loved english and reading when I was a kid.
I hope my kids like them too!

English English Enlish. I LOVED reading and writing. Hated math. Oh, and loved the Teacher's Aid period. DIdn't have to do anything!

I loved history and literature-anything involving reading-i still do!!

I remember the days leading up to the beginning of the new school year. We got so excited about our new school supplies, new teacher, new classroom, even the new homework. It was fun to get back in the swing of things. My favorite subject by far was English. I love to read.

hands down my favourite subject was math -- the answers were either right or wrong, no middle ground (at least not at that level), no arguments.

My favotite was art. It didn't feel like school.

I absolutely loved art history in 5th grade. My friend's mom was a curator at our local museum and volunteered to teach art history to us. Fun!

My favorite subject was math. I used to take 3 or 4 math classes per semester in high school (math, math team, math sat prep...)

I'm going back to school full time at the ripe old age of 32. My daughter is 7 months and I hope that I can teach her how important education is. Of course, now that I've quit my job a free backpack would be super helpful!

I loved gym--is that a subject???

Does recess count? My favorite subject was history.

I loved (still do) music. For a long time I wanted to a music teacher. Now, I don't know what I want to be when I "grow up".

my favorite experience was 2nd grade science fair! I knew my project was the best, but I was placed 2nd to the cutest guy in school so I didnt mind!

Oh, English by far. I started keeping a list of the books I read in 4th grade. I still keep the list and love to look back over all the books I've read from childhood until the present.

I loved art and english. Still do!

Definitely math. I went on to major in civil engineering but now I use those high level skills I learned on my two sons!

It was a math/science toss up for me! But then I guess they could kind of be considered the same subject much of the time. :)

I always enjoyed science. My favorite course of all times was in college, Embryology.

I enjoyed a lot of subjects: instrumental music, geography, science. But in grade 12 I *loved* math. I don't know why. In any case, I was inspired to take grade 13 calculus (where I went to school, grade 13 was required for university admission) in summer school. The whole course in 4 weeks. The first class, the teacher leaned on his desk, chuckled meanly, and announced, "Five hours a day of math; your worst nightmare." Indeed, whatever crazy love I'd developed for math in grade 12 was long over by the time I sat the final calculus exam!

I loved algebra. I know, I'm strange... :) But I had a great teacher and she made it "click" for me. And there was something satisfying in solving for "y".

English and drama were always my favorite classes. I suppose that's why I am now a reading and writing teacher in a middle school (i.e. academics plus never-ending drama).

Loved English! I could still spend a reading if I had the chance.

I was a band geek. I looked forward to band class every day. Looking back I can see how awkward I was, but at the time I really enjoyed myself!

My favorite subjects were always English & Art....or any time that I could read in class!

Well, this will come as no surprise. My favorite classes were Public Speaking, Composition, AP Composition and Journalism. :-)

My favorites were English and Social Studies :) Thank you for the giveaway!

My favorite subject would have to be Government. I know I'm weird. I found it extremely fascinating how everything worked.

Biology was by far my favorite. Not quite the amount of writing required for langauge arts, but not as abstract as math.

My fave was art!

My most vivid school memory was 4th grade and how terrible it was for me. My oldest daughter is now in fourth grade and I am looking forward to erasing my old memories with great ones this year!

I was the 6th grade school spelling bee winner and am still bragging about it (at the age of 32!)

Mine was Spanish, and boy I am lucky I did well in that class because hubby is from Guatemala and I wouldn't be able to talk very much to him if I didn't study Spanish in school! Everyone thought it was funny that a girl from a French-Canadian family living in Maine would be taking Spanish, but it certainly came in handy now, didn't it?

I loved art in school, and still enjoy it to this day.

Loved algebra! Just made sense...so much so, could finish homework in class so no homework!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved art.
I can remember drawing and painting for hours on end, even before I started school.
I went on toe get two advanced degrees in art and I am now a full-time professional ceramic artist.

Reading and Math!

Usually English, but PE was my favorite when it was time for social dance!

I loved English - i can never get enough of a good book - too bad I don't have tons of time to read these days!!!

Geometry was my fave. I had ever theorem and postulate memorized word for word. I wonder if I remember any of it now? Haha...

Since I grew up in a small town, my favorite subject was social studies where we learned about foreign cultures and different social systems. That's probably why my favorite hobby is traveling. My mother always said I always had one foot out the door.

My fav subjects were History and Geography, loved learning about different cultures and places.

My favorite subjects as a kid were English and Reading.

I loved art class! One of my fondest memories is winning an art contest in kinder about self portraits. I drew myself looking out a window, and i was one of the winners. It got hung in the hall of my elementary school. Some 20 years later, and it's still there! (Wonder if i can ask to keep it! LOL)

I always liked English, because it was easy for me and I got A's on my papers. I dreaded PE and would spend most of the period hiding in the outfield during kickball and praying the ball wouldn't head toward me.

I loved my english literature class. I could curl up with a good book for hours and hours and hours! Although my "me" time is very limited nowadays, that's still my #1 go-to when I have a few minutes to myself!

9th grade History - lots of movies were shown, though all I saw were the insides of my eyelids!

I loved music. It gave me an excuse to sing in public!

My favorite subject was music in elementary school. I went to school in S.F. and there was not a dedicated classroom for our weekly music class. We met in an alcove in the cafeteria. I still remember the smell of mac and cheese and the dreaded fish sticks as we made our way through the cafeteria. Only on the days that they were serving roasted turkey and mashed potatoes, did I look forward to music class!

My favorite subject was always science as a kid.

My favorite subject when I was kid was math and art and my kids love the same subject too.

Science all the way! My dad taught science, and so I loved having that connection with him.

I loved English, especially writing. And Art was also a favorite. :)

I loved english and social studies as a kid-

I loved history -- and was so inspired by the tales of the past that I became a history teacher!

My favorite subject in middle school was English. I loved reading all those classic books. I also loved home economics (I don't even think they have that anymore.) I still remember making donuts and decorating cakes. I am still proud of my guitar pillow that I sewed, especially now that they are so in style.

I loved math, but mostly because I had a great teacher who made the class fun.

My favorite part of the day was recess or silent reading. I loved when we could read any book we wanted and just hang out around the room.

Hello! Land Ends" rocks! They have so many quality items to choose from. My favorite subject changed from time to time as I aged! English in its' many forms has always been fun and interesting for me. I especially like the Literature aspect of English. Please enter me in your delightful backpack giveaway drawing. I appreciate it! Thanks, Cindi

I loved reading, especially in the 4th grade, because I had the best teacher! (Mrs. Neely) I also loved science class because we got to do experiments and find out how things work.

my favorite subjects were chemistry and math. Yes, I was a geek and still am :) and proud of it!

Ooooh, I LOVED English and reading!! Escaping into a good book and then being able to write about it was the best....

So that explains why I teach English now!!

I loved Recess...was that a subject??? Second choice was math :)

My favorite subject by far was debate - not just because of the subject itself but because my teacher was awesomely inspiring...teaching us the process and value of independent thought!

Ooooh, I LOVED English and reading!! Escaping into a good book and then being able to write about it was the best....

So that explains why I teach English now!!

Hmm...just one favorite subject? I think I would need to choose science. I loved learning about the world around me, especially about the habitats and animals and how every living thing interacts with one another. I learned very early on how our actions impact the rest of the world around us, my 3rd grade teacher had me recycling early on!

From the day I learned how to read that was my favorite thing about school--reading! I also loved art and did tons of my own arts and crafts projects at home.

Ooooh, I LOVED English and reading!! Escaping into a good book and then being able to write about it was the best....

So that explains why I teach English now!!

I really loved art. It was so exciting to see what projects our teacher had come up with each class and I always felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment because it had a definite ending. My grandfather was an artist and it's exciting to see my own daughter also throwing herself into art projects.

Hmm - I loved reading but I think I liked my computer classes the best - something about creating a program that worked was so fulfilling. I'm not gonna date myself by telling you what we programmed in though. ;-)

English was usually pretty interesting---

Spelling was my favorite in elementary school!

My favorite subjects were geography and art history.

The anticipation of beginning school to meet my teacher and find out which friends were going to be in my class was always exciting for me. I loved school and art and math were my fav subjects! My daughter loves art as well and I hope she loves school as much as I did.

I loved Music!

My favorite classes were history and social studies. I loved learning about other places in the world!

I always did well and enjoyed U.S. history, so I'll say it was my favorite subject.

All time fave was Creative Writing-poems, short stories, etc. AWESOME!!

I seemed to have loved the same subjects my Daughter loves now. Math and reading.

My favorite subject was always history as well. But really I was always the teacher's pet and loved school. I can't wait for my daughter to start school. I hope she will share my love of education and learning.

I liked reading the classics in English class (and still do).

My favorite subject was spelling. I was (and still am) an avid reader and I loved being able to ace every test without even trying!I can't say that about any other subject!

I loved photography!

I loved photography!

i know this sounds crazy- but Chemistry! I just "got it" and in High School I had a really cute teacher!

Math - until I got to calculus!

I loved languages, French and Spanish. Chemistry was so miserable! I have avoided all sciences and math since then!

I loved history and goverment in high school...it came very easy for me. I college it was spanish... and now I use both as a police officer.

Choices, choices . . . would have to say English and Spanish!

I loved school - my favorite was Advanced Composition in high school. I use the skills I learned in that class all the time even almost 20 years later!

Trapper Keepers, yucky gym class complete with blue striped uniforms and public showering, boys, Michael Jackson, decorating my locker, lunch lines, Def Leppard, Boy George, Motley Crue, Adam Ant, Prince, Wham!, spelling and reading, please no algebra or science, disecting frogs, getting my period for the first time, deodarant, purple, beads on my shoes.

By far, my favorite subject was science! I'd say that math came second. Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy art and music because I'm not artistically inclined AT ALL.

Reading and more reading - I was addicted to books and getting lost in stories and now as a teacher I am trying to instill the love of stories in my students as well as my daughter.

The anticipation of beginning school to meet my teacher and find out which friends were going to be in my class was always exciting for me. I loved school and art and math were my fav subjects! My daughter loves art as well and I hope she loves school as much as I did.

History was my favorite subject but photography was always my favorite class.

History and Math!

I liked Biology and English. I despised any kind of math and P.E.

I loved my senior physics class! I was the ONLY female student in the class along with 8 boys. With such an odd number, my lab partner was the only other female in the class, the teacher. And yes, I got an A that year. :-)

In high school my favorites were journalism and art history. I played sports to avoid PE and wasn't so great at balancing chemistry equations. Thanks for the giveaway!

Math! And band, too.

I was always a huge English/Lit. fan in school. Anything where there is no "right" answer is my thing!

English & history hands down!

My favorite classes were definiitely art related. Anything creative to get my mind off algebra and history!

i loved art! still do:) it was the only class where i could shine w/o trying.

My favorite subject was history, but psychology was my favorite class.

I was exposed to drama in high school and fell in love. I ended up majoring in musical theatre in college and have gone on to choreograph many shows in the south!

English and French...we threw footballs to remember words!

My favorite subject was Reading (until I was old enough & they started calling it English, or Language Arts). Every quarter we'd get a new reader, and I would lose myself in the book until it was finished - usually the same day they were handed out!

I loved Botany, although I don't remember a whole lot from it. I think I loved the teacher more. Who wouldn't love anything taught by a young handsome man fresh from grad school!! If he had taught Latin, this puera would have said Latin!!

I loved english lit and lunch :)

I loved Home Ec, the cooking part. Yum.

Science was my favorite!

A.P. U.S. History, even though I went to a Science and Technology High School!

I always liked Health...do they even still have that one??? I also liked science and math...well, back before college level anyway ;)

i absolutely loved Biology in school, really any science class. English was good to because I was good at English. Math was the worst!

I loved science, especially chemistry! All those fun experiments where awesome!

Recycle? Reuse? Those were not terms I was familiar with when I went to school. Then I only wanted new things...Now I try to be a lot more aware of my purchases of school supplies for my kids. I look for information about where those supplies were made and what kinds of materials they are made. Of course I do not buy all products from companies that believe in producing sustainable products, but I try as much as I can to support them. Every bit helps!

I was a little bit of a nerd and loved English:) Thanks!

I loved reading.

Math was by far my favorite!

My favorite subject in school was English, that was the only subject that made sense to me. Which is weird since I didn't like reading that much.

My favorite subject was definitely math.

I was just reminiscing the other day about my first day of kindergarten and standing in line in the playground waiting to go in with my mom. My daughter is starting kindergarten next week and she'll be taking the bus, so we'll have the bus stop good-bye instead. It's amazing how time flies!

I loved (and still do) history. It's what lead me to my job as a librarian!

I loved science and math.

I'd have to say my favorite subject was english comp. I loved writing and still do!

My favorite subject was science! :)

I enjoyed history the most.

Math and Science! I ended up being a CPA, but would love to go back and become a marine biologist!

I loved shopping for school supplies and in my country we had to cover our notebooks with brown paper and have proper labels with name, grade and subject on the cover before we even started school. It was exciting...and my fav subject was algebra - couldn't go wrong in it.

English/Lit, I had the best teacher who I owe my love of books to now.

By far, math was my favorite!

I loved art. I had the most encouraging, inspiring art teachers when I was in jr. and sr. high. My mom was an artist and teacher so she encouraged my talents and my teacher really inspired me to pursue art in college and as a career.
