On our boards recently, there has been a lot of chitchat about purses! After all, it is spring time, which always puts me in the mood for new clothing and accessories. I thought I would share my latest find, a beautiful french purse. This classy looking bag is perfect to be used as a clutch or to use inside a larger bag as a wallet. It is available in a variety of pretty spring colors and has a contrasting grosgrain ribbon which runs down the center of the bag. Inside the leather purse you will find a small zippered pocket great for storing spare change and on the other side a small open top pocket great for holding keys or a cell phone. For so long now I've been one of those moms walking around with drenched feet--totally wet in the rain. Jumping puddles, I've learned, is only fun when you aren't wearing canvas or leather.
Sure, I looked at rain boots. Actually, for 2 years I've looked at rainboots. And each year as they got cuter and more fun, I craved them a little bit more. But I still wondered: Is it worth it? Will I really use them?
So, as you may have heard, it poured yesterday. And the first part of it, my cute shoes were quickly soaked; my socks and toes were quickly freezing. As my 2 year old jumped and splashed in puddles, I got shivers and reached for tissues. Returning to my home for dry socks, I remembered my new Kamik Rain Boots. Sitting so pretty in my closet. Dry. Clean. Warm. Time to try them out.
Oh. Wow. I can't believe I didn't have this trend on my toes before today. Wes and I spent a while splashing and jumping in puddles together as the day continued. My feet stayed dry, my socks and toes warm and comfortable. Kamik's rubber boots come in trendy patterns and many versatile colors. They get attention--becuase they look smart. Really. I was probably the only mom at Trader Joes with dry toes.
And they're reasonably priced. Rainboots can be prices, but at Zappos, Kamik's retail for under $60 (free shipping, free returns.) Totally worth the toasty toes on the next rainy day. Check out Kamik's site for the full collection and see where else they're available.
They only come in half sizes, definitely order a size up. This is the first time I've ever been a size 7--and they're perfect. A 6 would be way small.
Another great Mother's Day Gift, how cute to get a Mother/Daughter set? Many of the patterns for Moms are also available for little girls (available in solid colors for boys, too.)
It's raining and gross here in Philadelphia today. Nothing unusual for April, but seeing as we've had 70 degree sunny and glorious weather the past two weeks, the rain seems gloomier than usual. All I want to do this afternoon is curl up in a pair of lounge pants and pair of socks from Karen Neuburger. Because these socks are a part of my my I have my period/I feel fat/I'm hungover/insert a reason to lay on the couch all day wardrobe. The reason why? They are so soft and comfortable, it's incredible.
Just go buy a pair - words do not do them justice. So comfy. And Dads, these are a great gift for Mother's Day!
Use coupon code MOM2008 for 15% off your order on these or anything on the Karen Neuburger site before May 31st.
I recently wore a Bari J vintage patchwork belt, and got a ton of compliments and comments from friends and moms in my area. The belts are gorgeous -- they combine beautiful color, vintage fabrics, and a rhinestone buckle in one slim and stylish belt.
Available in a blue/brown combination, pink, and tangerine, you will definitely find a style that will match your wardrobe.
If you have never checked out Bari's J's items, you are missing out. She makes amazing fabric handbags, brooches, key fobs, and more. You can even design your own handbag using vintage brooch embellishments and beautiful fabrics. The makeup bags and cell phone cases make perfect teacher gifts!
Make any purchase over $50 from Bari J and receive 15% off! This offer expires April 30, 2008. Use code: mommies15.

Hip Hip Hooray! The perfect nursing bra finally exists!
You don't believe me, do you? I know, I didn't think it was possible either. After breastfeeding 3 babies I thought I had tried (i.e. wasted my money on) all of them. But now, my dear readers, the search is over. The treasure has been found! (Thanks to Nursing Mother Supplies.)
I'm telling you the honest truth, when I took it out of the pakage I thought "Oh, this looks promising" and then when I put it on, I knew... "OH, yes, now THIS is perfection!" But it's kind of silly to get so excited just about a bra, right? Well, I think not. I've worn some annoyingly uncomfortable bras in my day and friends, if you've spent any time, in any bra, I bet you have too. AND, (are you ready for this?)... I might just continue wearing this bra AFTER I'm done nursing. Yes, you read that right. It IS that great.
Enough raving. "Details. We want Details!" I hear you.
The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra was designed to melt onto your body, and it does just that. It is SO comfortable. When I first started nursing I had to wear a bra 24/7 and this one is perfectly comfortable enough to sleep in. Now that my milk supply is more regulated I don't need to sleep with a bra on, but there have been several nights lately when I have slept in it again because it was so comfortable that I simply forgot I was even wearing it at all. (Well, that, and the fact that I'm always so tired I'm almost sleep walking to bed anyway... but still!)
In addition to amazing comfort, this molded foam cup bra simultaneously offers a wonderfully seamless silhouette, lovely flattering shape and fantastic support (without underwire.) There are thin, removeable foam cups to give you the option of a thicker cup lining, which I found wonderful when wearing more form fitting clothing. Plus, the soft, stretchy material means there are only 4 different sizes, so you can easily get the right fit without having to have a degree in bra engineering. That versitility is also great if, like me, your sizing can change depending on how far pospartum you are, or even what time of day it is!
I gaurantee you won't be disappointed in this nursing bra, but hey, if you are, just send it to me. I'd love to have extras!
Find your Bravado Body Silk Nursing Bra (and many other fabulous goodies for breastfeeding) at Nursing Mother Supplies and use the coupon code "SAVE10" for a 10% total savings. Also go HERE to enter the "Breastfeeding is Green Contest" and have a chance to win a $300 gift basket. Sounds like that deserves a "Bravo!" too!
I love my Power Pants from Lucy. And this coupon for 25% off the entire store hit my inbox today, making me tempted to place another order.
Check it out: 0308epower for 25% off your entire order. Expires March 23, 2008. Lucy sells activewear/work out clothes. They also have a flat $5 shipping rate.
You know when you come across and item that just makes you go, "oh... yeah... that's a good one." Or, even better, the frustrating "grrr... now why didn't I think of that??" Well, here are two of those smart and useful products, both from embrace.
Ideal for travel, Embrace a Fresh Pair won't leave your unmentionables unwearable. tiny papers scented very lightly of pear, this undergarment leaf soap was created for handwashing your delicate undergarments. Which means the next time you're traveling and want to re-wear a pair, won't be quietly cleaning with shampoo in the sink. Packaged descreetly in a matchbox sized case, each Embracde a Fresh Pair contains 20 soap leaves for only $7.50.
Also from Embrace, I'm loving The Bra Strap Solution. Once you've found a bra you love, its hard to switch to another. But for years I've been purchasing a not-quite-as-comfortable racerback for hiding my straps when I'm wearing a top that shows my normal straps. No longer. The Bra Strap Solution is going to be my hero to a sexy summer. Simply, its a tiny plastic circle with sweet little hearts. Use the hearts to pull the straps close in back and adjust until your straps are hidden. Not just for summer, this handy piece has also been useful on my beloved older bras, the ones where the straps are a little bit stretched and tend to fall and slide under heavy coats and sweaters. With the Bra Strap Solution adding a bit more resistance, problem solved.
Both Embrace products cost less than $10 each, but you can use coupon code MWS20 for 20% off online orders. I'm planning to order a few extras of both--not just to keep in suitcases and my gym bag, but to gift to Moms-to-Be, Honeymooners and travelers.
My daughter, the fashion maven that she is, was recently commenting on how everyone in our neighborhood has school logo tees that they love wearing but that she didn’t have one for her preschool. So when we recently received a fabulous Iced CouturePreschool Rocks tee, she couldn’t have been more excited! She was so proud to not only wear it to school (where her teachers and friends got a kick out of it) but to also be able to wear it with her older friends. Since this will be her last year of preschool, she loves wearing it as much as she can and plans on retiring it to her doll Sarah when she graduates in June. The tees are available in a variety of colors, in sizes 2T-5/6, short or long sleeved and you can choose your Swarovski Crystal color. Mommies of boys......you can check out the Preschool Prince tee! Mommies-to-be – want a unique gift for your doctor or nurse? Take a look at the Iced Littman Stethoscope Name Tag! It’s sure to get someone’s heart pumping!
Iced Couture specializes in Swarovski Crystal-adorned clothing, accessories, tutus, flip flops and Converse shoes for babies to adults. Use code “MWS” to save 15% off of your purchase.
34.5 Weeks Pregnant - Living in Lulu B Maternity/Nursing Wear
During pregnancy and immediately afterwards your body goes through so many changes. Sometimes you don't feel so pretty, and often you don't feel so comfy. But glammy-chic loungewear from Lulu B.Maternity and Nursing Loungewear is a quick fix to this problem. It's so beautiful and so comfortable that you'll look for excuses to wear these items everyday. Not that you need an excuse, or need to stay at home - this loungewear is pretty enough to go out shopping in, it's acceptable daywear as well.
Lulu B. Maternity Loungewear is sure to serve you well both during and after pregnancy, but you'll want to be sure to check out Lulu B.Nursing Loungewear as well. The nursing loungewear is especially thoughtfully designed to help breastfeeding moms achieve success without sacrificing their sense of style. Tops are crafted from soft fabrics in either prints (I love the zebra!) or juicy solid colors with coordintating trim.
Like the maternity tops, breastfeeding tops are made to be worn bra-less and provide support thanks to a soft elastic band that fits under the bust. I am rather full chested and found the tops provided enough support to be comfortable throughout a day of light activity. The top portion of the nursing top differs from the maternity styles in that it is layered and lifts, to expose an underneath layer with circular cut outs.
I can really appreciate that you can lift just the top portion of the shirt, one handed, and have fast and easy access for feedings without uncovering your entire torso and exposing yourself or catching a chilll. The tops are also triple lined and include handy special pockets for holding your breast pads - so they have you covered.
One other thing I love about the designs is that they are forgiving and flattering to your shape, both while pregnant, and postpartum. If you are into matchy-wear, check out their adorable matching infant onesies as well.
I'm so in love with this line. It's a great treat for any expecting or new mom. Lulu B. Nursing and Maternity Loungewear is sure to make you feel super special and lovely. And as a mom to be who has been on bedrest for the last seven weeks, I cannot recommend this line enough! It's made the darkest days seem much brighter and helped me retain my sense of style through it all.
Do something special for yourself! Mommies With Style Save 20% when you enter coupon code MWS20.
So we took Nate skiing for the first time last weekend. Hubby's an expert skier; he's been all over the place to ski from Whistler to Taos to skiing all over Europe. My skills can get me down the mountain most of the time. (I almost divorced hubby when we got to the top of a blue in Tahoe and he hadn't told me that a blue on the east coast is a little bit different on the west coast. But I survived, and had fun doing it.)
Given the enjoyment we both get out of skiing, we've always known we'd take our boys as soon as we could. Last year it wasn't happening with a newborn, but this year the grandparents watched Cole while we headed an hour away to take Nate to an intro mountain here in PA. We had a blast. I was nervous beforehand about how he'd do but he did great and we can't wait to go again.
All that said, when I went to open up (and dust off) our "ski stuff" box, I realized everyone was in need of some gear. I ran over to Sears to check out the Lands End winter gear and what you can't see in this photo is that I ended up with an awesome fleece that's underneath my ski jacket that kept me more than warm that day. And had I gone (or ordered) sooner, I could have saved myself some serious money because they also sell ski/snow pants for kids that are affordable.
Also, Lands End does a "temperature rating" on each of their cold weather items - from warm to warmer to warmest. (I was kind of amazed to see some of the "warm" items - which seemed lighter than I would wear in the kind of temp they listed but they obviously know what they are doing.) It's helpful because you can pick an item based on your climate off this chart.
Lands End has easy access too since they sell in Sears, if you have one near you. I'm seeing spring produout all over the place but it's still January, people, and it's cold!
Karen Neuburger's socks were one of the first products I ever reviewed here. I still wear my comfy socks, which they unfortunately don't seem to sell anymore. (sob!) But Karen's brand still offers some really awesome and comfortable products. We're talking every day wear that you won't want to take off - PJs, socks and sportswear for women. They also sell products for the home, men and kids.
For Kids they have this great First Book product, which is a If you Give a Mouse a Cookie book and matching PJs. It's a really cute bundle - they offer it in infant size up to tween. (Not sure if a tween would wear these PJs though.) It's $44 for the set and makes a nice gift.
I love nursing my babies. It really is a special time of bonding and a chance to help my little angel grow. It does however, like everything else, come along with some unique challenges. Like what on earth to wear while your nursing your precious little treasure.
If your babies are anything like mine, when they're hungry, they don't have much patience for you fumbling around with bulky and cumbersome non-nursing friendly clothing. And if you are anything like me, you want to wear clothing that is fashionable, yet still offers you that quick-access convenience you need for impatient nursers. Not to mention a little bit of coverage for Mommy. I said I love nursing, but I don't love showing everyone in the room that I'm nursing.
Thankfully the lovely people at Maternalove understand this.
With Maternalove's wide range of nursing tops you can look great, feel comfortable and enjoy convenient functionality while breastfeeding. They've created some really great designs for convenient nursing.
Check out their latest fashions and make life a little bit easier, for you and your baby.
Divas and Babes defines the word diva on the website as "a haute Mama who refuses to compromise fashion for function." Like many of the items we review, their site is all about sassy and stylish products. From ring slings to Mei Tei carriers, to clothes for your baby to clothes for you, you'll find a mix of items to appease your inner diva.
Their latest item I'm loving is the "Comfy Suit." One of my New Years Resolutions is to become more regular with my working out. Which means I'll have to have more work out clothes. (Of course. Another excuse to shop - yay!)
This Comfy Suit is great for the price and versatility - wear it out shopping, wear it to Yoga, wear it running. Pick pink, gray, blue or black. It's $39 for the set and you can use coupon code MWS15 for an additional 15% off the price of that or anything else on the site.
While it’s not officially winter just yet, lately it has been quite cold here in the Northeast. So when I received a Charlee Kat’z Creations for my daughter, I couldn’t wait for her to wear it! She looks so precious in it and loves wearing the hat. I think I want one for myself as well!
Charlee Kat’z Creations makes gorgeous handmade chenille hats and scarves for little ladies of all generations. These unique and stylish hats are classic timeless pieces you will treasure forever. They are so soft, warm and are available in a choice of 16 colors and sizes: Infant, Child and Mommy. The brim on the hat can be worn up or down and you can add a beautiful removable flower brooch to your hat. I love that the flower brooch is removable, so you can buy them in a variety of colors and change them to coordinate with your mood and/or wardrobe, or remove it completely for a simpler, more classic look. The flower brooch is simple to attach and hooks onto anything with the included pin.
If you want to keep warm in style this winter, use code “mommieswithstyle” to save 20% off of your order until January 12, 2008.

My much younger and way hipper babysitter turned me onto Threadless.com. And my oldest actually noticed first. One day before she was due to arrive, he said to me, "I wonder what t-shirt Christina will be wearing today?" And I realized, hey, she does wear some cool t-shirts. I asked her about it when she arrived (in a cool tee with balloons) and she said she regularly orders from Threadless.com.
I took a visit over and fell in love with some of their tee designs. They have men's, women's and kids designs. What's cool too is that anyone can submit a design to possibly be printed on a t-shirt. So the tees you find there are done by all sorts of designers all over the place. Check it out - they have all sorts of fun sayings and designs. A lot of the designs (for both women and kids) have a bit of an edge so this might not be the place to shop for more conservative Moms.
They don't do promo codes but my babysitter tells me they often run specials so check back often.
I love the fall. I love the smell, the cool crisp freshness in the air. I love being outside in the fall. And I am going to love wrapping myself up in my new zebra print pashmina from The Pashmina Store. It's perfect when it's not so cold you need a jacket but you still want a little something on for added warmth. They are stylish, soft, warm, luxurious and versatile. What could be more fun to wear? The pashmina's at The Pashmina Store are available in 3 sizes, scarves, wraps, or shawls, they even have blankets. They're great, you can look just as fashionable throwing one on over a tee shirt and jeans as over a cute little dress. The one I chose is a black and white zebra print. They are offered in so many fabulous colors as well as in the ever popular animal prints. You can definitely find something to match any outfit. I was also impressed by the quality of these pashimas.
The Pashmina Store is offering Mommies With Style readers 15% off orders $75 or more. Use code MSG15. So wrap yourself up this fall and add some flair to your outfit, casual or dressy.
I couldn't help myself. I have two boys, and I'm not really much of a girly-girl. I've never really been one of those Moms with boys who look longingly at the pink I'd love to buy for my kids. But then this cute hat came from Maggie's Rose, obviously for a girl, but I couldn't restrain myself from trying it on the baby. He was even wearing a green tee that day, which matched the green hand-crotched Maggie's Rose hat that came.
He's no worse for the wear, and until one of his girlfriends finds this in 17 years, I figure he won't mind. All in the name of "product testing," right?
So the hats from Maggie's Rose are hand-crocheted and very soft. I couldn't help myself from running my hand over the crocheted part of the hat a couple of times. I wouldn't even know where you go about finding such soft yarn. And of course the addition of the flower-bling spices the hat right up.
They come in all sizes (baby to adult) and definitely stretch. The one on the baby also fit on my 10 year old niece (although we had to stretch it a little more than it was probably intended). They also make headbands and hair clips, also adorned with flowers.
Use coupon code mr015 for 15% off your order on the Itsy Bitsy Baby Boutique. (You can also view more images hats on the Maggie's Rose site but they don't currently sell the hats on their site)
In the third trimester of pregnancy I can't say that I'm feeling my 'prettiest' on a daily basis. But thanks to the styling of Schone Maternity there can be at least a few days when I do.
“Schone” is a Dutch word meaning “Clean Beauty”. The mission at Schone Maternity is to be "Eco Chic." In other words, to make beautiful clothes that are aesthetically and literally clean. Each garment is made from environmentally friendly, fairly traded fabrics and is produced in fair labor practicing factories in the United States.
These clothes are made with such great attention to detail that there is no way to wear them and not feel pretty.
But besides looking pretty there is nothing that makes me feel prettier than doing something that's beneficial to others. That is why I love the fact that Schone Maternity has also set up a wonderful 'recycling program'. You can send your gently worn Schone Maternity clothes back to them and they will clean and repair the clothes before bringing them to 'Momma’s House', an organization which provides crucial support to young mothers. And, as if that wouldn't make you feel pretty enough, they will send you a hand woven, richly hand dyed silk scarf from Laos as a thank you!
Now, how much prettier can you get than that?
So sing with me now, "See the pretty girl in that mirror there: Who can that attractive girl be? Such a pretty face, such a pretty dress, such a pretty smile, such a pretty me!"
Check out Schone Maternity for their Mid-Summer SALE. And keep checking back to order from the new Fall Collection coming soon.
Here's a product that made me grin from ear to ear. Toe-less socks. It may sound silly but they are just brilliant. And you need them. You really do. And now you can get them - from Toezies.
Why do you need Toeless socks?
First of all, there is the sweaty foot issue. I am a big fan of physical humor. But when it involves me doing something rather spastic in the middle of my warrior pose, well then, I'll pass. If you are the type that wears flip flops in the shower and wishes you were not so bare-footed and foot fungus exposed at the gym, then you will appreciate the absorbancy and breathability of these socks. And if you don't like landing on your bum, you will appreciate their superior "stick" factor. It is like being barefoot, only better.
Outside of the gym these socks are fun to wear when you get a pedicure - just pop them on before your toenails get painted. Or wear them when you want a little warmth with your flip flops or sandals. Sandals with socks, you ask? The horror! But these are not regular socks. They are Toezies. And you're cool. Really you are. Get ready to be imitated!
Toezies fit up to a women's size 11 and retail for $12. Email your order to info@mytoezies.com and use the subject line "momstyle" and you can get a second pair of Toesies for half price!
28 Weeks Pregnant: Lounging in Luxury (Receiving Gown)
The Yukata Receiving Gown by Ruby Fay, available at In Style Moms, is ideal for every woman who wants something beautiful to lounge in. While It can be worn by anyone, I definitely think it's the perfect thing for Moms-to-be who are looking for something special to wear at the hospital and later.
After a very long labor with my firstborn, I was so relieved to have my new baby that I didn’t take much notice of my appearance when we took all of the pictures. At the time, I probably would not have appreciated anyone who might have suggested that I consider ‘freshening up a bit.’ But in hindsight, I wish that someone had. Most of the pictures with me in them turned out to be less than fabulous, to say the least.
This time around I'm counting on the Yukata Receiving Gown to help give me that beautiful new Mommy feeling we all deserve to have post delivery. It will be so much nicer to see in pictures, and while receiving visitors (in the hospital and at home), than gowns with childish prints that the baby should be wearing, instead of you. Or even worse, the yucky standard issue hospital gown.
The beautiful fabric has a smooth, soft finish and is 100% cotton, imported from Japan. The gown itself is made in the USA.
Retail price is $85.00 at In Style Moms. MWS readers can use coupon code "MWS10" to receive a 10% discount for anything on the site.
So I don't know how I missed this, but I did not know that La Leche League had a store and that they sell products. They have an array of products, including Nursing Bras, intimate apparel and newborn and baby wear.
Always on the lookout for good nursing products, I tried one of their bras. Of course, La Leche League is one of the leading authorities (if not THE top leading one) on breastfeeding. So I wasn't surprised to love the bra. Comfortable, easy access with the snap, very supportive and definitely affordable, I certainly recommend that all nursing mothers and soon to be nursing mothers check out their line of items.
I was especially impressed by the support. While I have found plenty of nursing bras that provide an easy snap or access for nursing, not as many of them are supportive. (Which is obviously even more important when you are nursing and everything's bigger and heavier!)

Many of us have attended or been invited to purse parties. I know I have now been to a few. I had a purse made at the first one I attended, all excited to design my own. But I have to say I wasn’t that impressed and decided that maybe these design your own purses weren’t for me. I now think it is all about finding the right “design your own purses” brand. I recently received a “B’s Purse.” Very stylish. High quality. The first things to strike me on these bags are the high end and hip fabrics and handles. The purse I have is a semi circle shape in an orange and white large print with round wooden bamboo handles. Very summer. They carry everything from purses to backpacks, makeup cases to portfolio bags, diaper bags to entire luggage sets. The high end stylish materials really make these bags, and they are so easy to design. The best part – you can create your bag from the comfort of your own couch. Just log on to pick your bag style, your fabrics, your lining, and your handles and your finished – your custom made bag delivered to your door. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you leave with a stylish new bag that fits you!
Right now www.bspurses.com/rkhalifa is offering Mommies With Style readers a free check book cover that you can design yourself with a purchase over $200. Mention Mommies With Style when you place your order.
Babymaking is serious business. And when you are ready to "give it the old college try" you don't want to go to bed wearing... um... that old college tee, now do you? Most people don't get pregnant on the first try. Or the second, third, fourth or fifth. If you are like most folks, you may feel a wee little bit silly getting out the special lingerie, by your tenth attempt to create a human being.
It's time for a little humor and a little luck. But stay away from that lucky college tee, please? Instead, check out MILFbrand's tongue in chic Babymaker nighties. Here is some nightwear you can really relax in. Just as comfy as the old college tee but with a haute-ier fashion sense and some wit to boost. These are like your favorite tank tops, just longer.
I love the brown "Monkey Want Banana" version. Cracks me up every time. You'll leave no doubt about your intentions when you wear the black "Simon Says Do This" nightie. Or you can play coy in the "Skip to my Lou, my Darling" version in a pale pink.
They say a little humor and the ability to relax are critical when you are trying to make a baby. Good advice for almost any endeavor, really. As a nice additional bonus these will still fit you when you are preggo. And they will still look better on you than that old college tee, I promise you.
Tees and onesies for kids with cute sayings never get old in my book. In my opinion, being a Mom is hard so anywhere I can get a laugh or a smile, I take it.
Gifts of Wit makes onesies and tees for infants, toddlers and they even have a few tees available for Moms and Dads. Some of my favorites include (for Mom), "Naptime is my Happy Hour," and "As soon as I had kids, I forgave my parents for everything." And for kids, "Your crib or mine?," "If you think I'm bald, you should see my Dad," and "Hooked on the Bottle."

Making matchy with your infant is tricky business. The last thing you want to look like is the "stupid" from the "I'm with stupid tee" which can happen if you're not careful.
But this is never an issue when you and your baby are wearing clothing from Puella & Puella Petit. No kitschy phases here or tongue in cheek references to mom or dad's various talents. Just dreamily soft cottons with gentle pastel colored organic prints. The line is the zenith of casual chic. It has been featured in Lucky Magazine and is so beloved for it's simple, almost vintage appeal, that it just wasn't fair to leave the kiddos out. It's impossible not to adore these charming pieces which explains why Tori Spelling and Liam Aaron McDermott, Samantha Harris, Shanna Moakler and daughter Alabama, Rena Sofer and many more are snatching up the soft cotton pieces by this haute line
Puella dresses are kind to new moms and pregnant types as they are soft and comfy as a nightie, but look totally put together for summer. The empire styles work especially well on a variety of shapes, and are flattering to pregnant moms and postpartum moms as well. Samantha Harris wore a Bell Sleeve Puella dress in Rain ($140) to a recent event and picked up some baby items in a soft yellow for her baby, due this fall. The children's collection fits up to size three and includes tees, leggings, ruffle pants, onesies, blankets and dresses. The collection shares prints with the women's line and there are many colors/prints that are gender neutral, allowing moms to pick items to match their sons or daughters.
Swim Safely, and Stylishly, with Your Kids This Summer
Several months ago when Wesley and I started Mommy-n-Me swim class, I was stumped. My figure had changed a lot and my old one-pieces weren't too appealing on my body. Additionally, after a recent trip to Mexico, I had invested quite a lot into sexy bikinis... sexy bikinis that were too sexy for Wes to grab onto in the therapy pool. Thus began a new search, this time one for an exersize swim suit--and one that looked appealing.
Of course, I first approached the big names. And, really, almost settled for them. But then I stumbled upon swimoutlet.com, and amongst the well-known suits in their line-up, they also sported an unfamiliar line, ClubSwim.
What first drew my attention to ClubSwim was the fun patterns on their sensible fabrics. Sure, they have plenty of solids, but they also have florals and camos--in many colors. Next, I noticed the variety of styles. I wouldn't be stuck with a one piece at Mommy and Me, I could choose from a few cuts of 2-pieces, too.
Now that I've been wearing the ClubSwim suits, my TYR and Speedo's are taking a back seat. ClubSwim's suits look good and feel good. I love the lack of underwire (which is just not conducive to a comfortable swim lesson or workout). And they hug in the right places and compliment many figures.
As for an almost 2 year old pulling this one off? No way. They're secure, as they are made for exercise and competition. They go on as a tank or sports bra--no ties or snaps of any sort. And they fit snug, so there is nothing for those little hands to grab a little too much.
I know you'll love the prices. For the amount I usually pay for a sexy little 2 piece, I could buy several ClubSwim suits. Several. They're currently discounted at SwimOutlet. Plus, free shipping with a $75 purchas. And I have to mention that SwimOutlet has fantastic Customer Service. Remember the bigger name suits I had? Well, I still had the tags on most, and I called after the return authorization date to sweetly request an extention. There was no problem--they were happy to accept my return. (And they didn't know I was working on a review).
Think a great price and great customer service, in addition to a great new suit isn't enough? We've got you covered... or at least covered enough in the pool with your kids! Beginning June 29, ClubSwim is sponsoring a Mommies with Style contest. There will be 10 lucky winners of their own choice of ClubSwim suits! So check back later in the week for more details.
I know a few moms nervous about giving in to their husbands' wishes and donning a bikini--a ClubSwim bikini like the one featured here just might make everyone happy.
Recently I heard something that sounded too good to be true. It was about a shoe that reduced cellulite, just by wearing it. Seriously. Well I figured that if I had to throw myself in front of that train for the benefit of you readers, so be it. I was willing to do that for you all. Okay, okay...maybe not just for you all. Maybe it was in the name of science. Or something. Comfort, lets say.
