I have one song stuck in my head as the Christmas holiday approaches. “I’ll be home for Christmas!” , and then I say aloud: “if only in my dreams…” 7 years ago, I moved away from my hometown (Washington DC) to live the Army life with plans to return. Well, life happened, marriage, kids, job, home and the list goes on. Currently, we have two boys ages 1 and 2. Our families haven’t met our youngest yet. (and he’s 16 months old) My grandmother is elderly and a bit sickly, she is yearning to see my boys. All I want for Christmas is to grant her wish. The detterent is always time and money. We’re workaholics with very minimal off times, not to mention…a flight anywhere for our family of four seems to always ring in at $1,000 -$2,000 roundtrip. OUCH OUCH OUCH! (Especially for this time of year…)
