When I was introduced to Nickelodeon Fruit Squeezers by Nature’s Child by a friend who is very choosy in what she gives her children, I could already tell that I was going to heartily approve. Currently available an applesauce version (in the Dora package) and berry version (in the SpongeBob) package, they’re 100% fruit purees, with vitamin C added. They’re also gluten-free, OU Kosher and contain no added sugar or sweeteners like many other applesauces on the market. My older kids (ages 3 and 5) are squeezy applesauce fans, so I wasn’t surprised that they loved the Nickelodeon Squeezers.
But I was surprised that my kids went so crazy over the cartoons on the package, because they don’t watch Dora or SpongeBob (but we have some Dora toys). It definitely added to the “cool factor” for them – though I liked that they gobbled down the healthy treats with gusto and kept on demanding more. I would have been interested in the product even if the Nick characters weren’t on it — the product met all my standards for a healthy snack. When I buy applesauce or pouch fruit purees, I always look for 100% fruit with no added sugars or junk.
Sold in 4-packs for $2.99, each Squeezer is equal to a serving of fruit. We think they’re a great, healthy (and ultra-portable) snack. You can find them at stores like SuperTarget and Walgreens, as well as online at Amazon.com.
Thank you to Nature’s Child for sending samples for review purposes.
