More super shoes, these are from Rileyroos

Just when Middle was outgrowing baby shoes, I first heard of Rileyroos. I was fortunate to get a pair on his feet, just barely, though. Because he grew out of them and was suddenly jumping through mud puddles.

So with Little suddenly on the move, it was perfect timing for Rileyroos to come out with their spring line. I was sent a sample pair of their sporty Dakota shoes, of course in pink (Sunset). I’ve always found Rileyroos to run a little small, which is perfect since Little, at 8 and a half months, is just getting into her 6-9 month clothing. So the fact that the size 6-12 month shoes actually stay on her feet is a miracle! (in most other lines she can still pull size 0-6 month shoes off.)

I also find the construction of Rileyroos to be top-notch. The rubber padding is perfect for future protection and padding when she’s learning to walk. And they provide excellent traction now that she’s army crawling and attempting to crawl–she keeps rubbing her toes on the ground–the design holds up extremely well and there hasn’t been much, if any, scuffing.

Check out their sale items, too. They have a great line of new spring shoes, which means Rileyroos is pushing a few cuties out the door.

Thanks to Rileyroos for providing sample shoes for this review. Use code MWS10 for 15% off through April 18, 2010.

Livie and Luca’s Sweet Sandals

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It’s not too early to start thinking about summer sandals! This season, Livie & Luca, who I’ve been a fan of for a long time, has come out with some gorgeous ones.

We’re wild about Bloom ($45), pictured above – a bright lime green leather sandal with a hand-cut magenta flower. It also features a Velcro closure for easy on and off. Get it in toddler/little girl sizes 4 – 13. Running true to size, my little girl will look so stylish wearing these sweet sandals in the warmer weather! I wish they made them in my size too.W

We also loved the Haru. Using commissioned artwork of Livie & Luca’s new friend Haru playing on the beach beneath the sun’s rays. It’s silk-screened onto textile and then overlaid on Livie & Luca’s soft leather. The insole  is removable, which allows for sizing and hand-washing. Comes in size 4 -8.

See Kai Run’s Smaller Shoes: I think I said “aren’t these SO cute?” at least 10 times. In 2 minutes.

Little's first pair of cute girly shoes! Love them!

Little's first pair of cute girly shoes! Love them!

Little has yet to walk, yet to even crawl, but when her first pair of Smaller baby shoes arrived, she reached a major milestone, for her shoe-loving mom: she wore shoes. Sure, they were off within 5 minutes, but 5 minutes was enough time for me to coo over their cuteness.

Smaller shoes, though, are much more than cute. Produced by See Kai Run, they are a, ahem, smaller shoe than their original line. Instead of the rubber soles that adorn the originals, Smallers have soft suede bottoms with non-slip rubber patches at the heel and ball of the foot. They’re made of a butter-soft leather that See Kai Run says is stronger than ever before:

“We’ve paid attention to customer feedback and have responded with improvements that will make our shoes even better,” says founder Cause Haun. “While See Kai Run has always prided itself on creating flexible, supple shoes healthy for developing feet, the trade-off has been using leather that has not always worn as well as we would like. Our new leather has twice the fiber strength of the original, but doesn’t sacrifice the luxurious look and butter-soft feel our customers love. We’re so pleased to roll out this major improvement.”

So, Smaller wasn’t around when Big and Middle were babies, so I never had the opportunity to try them on my guys. And one of the first (and most favorite) things I noticed once I had the shoes on Little’s feet was that their adjustable strap is truly adjustable. Her feet are super narrow (I forsee agony finding cheerleading sneakers in the future.) The heels that are so darn skinny that many shoes with elastic cuffs fall right off. So I was ever-so-impressed that Smaller’s hook & loop closure is truly adjustable. The hook & loop covers 100% of the strap, and I could pull the strap completely to make the fit around the ankle snug enough (and I mean, she’s teeny-tiny-itty-bitty there) so that the shoe didn’t fall off.

And that’s when I started in on my “OMG they’re so adorable!  So stinkin’ cute! Can you believe how cute these shoes really are?!” to my poor, childless sister. Who agreed they are adorable. And then moved back to reading her fashion and celeb gossip blogs.

Thanks to See Kai Run for the oh-so-cute sample shoes. Receive free shipping through noon Pacific Time on Tuesday, March 2.

Silly Souls: Glitz up the toes

sillysoulsSilly Souls, aka Baby Gags, recently introduced a new line of unique baby shoes. Totally glitzy and eye-catching, even a newborn can be a dancing queen when she crowns her toes with their pearlized shoes. And little future Mick Jaggers will love kickin’ and screamin’ with the new Rock Star baby shoes in silver.

Made of PU Athletic leather (ie no animal products) with rubber soles at the heel and forefoot, these shoes aren’t made for walkin’ but sure are made for giftin’ in the cute lunch-box style boxes.

Oooh la Couture from Pediped

ss_anklestrap_metallicpinkcroc_overhead_3x3I received a sample of pediped’s ™ couture collection before my baby was born. Having no idea that it would be wearing pink, I was taken aback. You see, I’m not used to glitter and shine. And glitter and shine is what pediped’s ™ Couture Collection is all about. Inspired by safari-style, yet juiced to deluxe, these shoes have all the qualities I’ve always adored in pedipeds ™:

  • the hand stitched soles for breathability and flexibility
  • the soft soles for free movement
  • the soft leather for protection and comfort
  • the roomy toe for wiggle room, movement and growth

… and they look smashing. Now that I’m prepared for pink and glitter and shine, these shoes totally dress up the feet: adding a little fancy-shmancy to those little toes–in the form of Mary Janes in black, pink, gold and red.

Oooh! I’m so excited to dress my little girl!

Gender Neutral! Bibi & Mimi Baby Shoes make for great gifts

bmfrogsAs usual, I’m totally into shoes this spring. I’ve been shopping shoes for all of my kids lately… even the unborn one! So when Bibi & Mimi sent me a pair for review, I was all-to-happy to grab them and review.

The sample I received were the Frog Shoes, which are totally springy (pale yellow with adorable green frogs.) They’re also gender neutral (score! Love gender neutral gifts) and they’re not a gender neutral blah… but a gender neutral cute that will look adorable even after I know if baby is a girl or boy.

The shoes are hand-crafted and the outer layer is all leather. Inside its lined, which I love, and the sole is cushioned for comfort. The elastic ankle is nearly fully framed in the same soft leather, allowing for chubby and skinny little ankles to feel comfort, and to help keep shoes and socks on.

Overall, I’m very impressed with Bibi & Mimi… and looking forward to the little one wearing them.
