Remember how hot Pillow Pets were last holiday season? I don’t know about all of your kids, but my kids still sleep with each of theirs every night. For kids who are Pillow Pets fans, there is now Pillow Pets for the Nintendo DS [$16.00 on Amazon].

This game is rated E for everyone and looks adorable.  Players have to visit Dreamland and try and rescue Pillow Pets who have become stuck there.  Once rescued, then can bring them home and adorn their virtual “bedroom” with their pillow pets. Sounds like an all play, right?

Apparently I’m the only one in the family because lately my kids have been not only asking to go to the 3D movies but they have been loving playing with our Nintendo 3DS ($169.99 with free shipping at Amazon).

The latest from Nintendo, you do have to buy specific games to work in 3D on the 3Ds. (We tried our regular DS games and they don’t fit)  But it’s pretty neat and on the right side of the screen is a slider where you can adjust your level of 3D — from none, if you’re like me and can’t handle the display, to extreme 3D.

It also has some cool parental controls so you can adjust the 3D for younger players. (3D is recommended for only ages 7 and up)

In Imagine Teacher Class Trip, tweens oversee a class on an academic competition retreat. The “teacher” uses classroom managment skills and grades papers.

In Imagine Boutique Owner a tween becomes a manager/owner of a tiny boutique. As she plays, she is faced with challenges like listening to and pleasing the customer, making change and, eventually, designing new store areas, stocking them and working to make them succeed.

We also have Imagine Zookeeper and Imagine Artist, but I haven’t explored those as well. (Once I gave my son the DSi to play Battle of Giant Dinosaurs, also a sample, I haven’t had much time to get back on.)

The game itself is pretty self-explanatory:  kids can design their own jewelry on this game.  But the unique piece to this game which I think is so neat is that they can then upload their designs to the Ubisoft site and then, via a partner jewelry company, order the pieces they’ve designed.  Each piece is very affordable (think $20 for the more expensive necklaces).  Visit the Jewelry Design site to read more about it and if you have a tween girl to buy for this season, check this one out!
